Terrible customer service and location; not a lot of people and very sterile
Jake_82ch (Langenthal, Switzerland) on Sep 01, 2024
We got an option for late checkout which we accepted since we had a very late flight. Upon check-in we were told that this was not a binding offer (or at least only for us when we accepted it and not for the hotel I guess?) and that we needed to check back the last day to see if they could provide this. We did of course check back only to be told that it was not possible. Since there were a ton of rooms on various platforms still available for that night - for prices close to what we had been offered for late checkout - we inquired if we could book another night, keep the same room and then check out early. They said yes, but only by booking through them and then they offered a total fantasy price which was almost as high as the amount we had paid for our five night stay. So just terrible customer service and really a missed opportunity for them to make some money by being reasonable. This leads me to writing this review of our overall experience which I otherwise wouldn‘t have. So here goes: We had known that the location was not the best, being a bit isolated on the strip. We thought we’d just walk to other places. But with temparatures super high in August you can‘t really walk outside and go to the other hotels so you are stuck here and let me tell you it is dead.. Every other hotel and casino was full of people, including the restaurants. But here? Half the stuff is closed or only open during short periods of the day. Choices for food are extremely limited. What is that mall? The few stores still open are surely closing down soon because there is zero foot traffic. The casino itself is severly lacking a theme, it‘s just all so sterile and nondescript and really boring. The resort fee has always been a joke in Vegas but here it‘s even worse - what is this even for? This is not a resort, there‘s nothing offered that goes beyond a standard hotel. 10% off a sunbed? Wow. Finally, a person in our party had a medical issue during our stay. There was zero helpfulness from anyone. All they tried to do was to make sure there was no liability on the hotel’s side instead of, you know, help. We were shocked by the callousness. Anyway, the rooms are nice, but that‘s about it. Stay at literally any other hotel on the strip and you‘ll have a better time.
Overall great stay

Beautiful hotel, got a corner room with an awesome view! The pool area is excellent, except to swim in or sit by the first pool you have to reserve a spot, this was not explained to us. Yet on a busy day we were able to find two chairs together. I am mobility scooter dependent, and had no problem parking it off to the side. There are lots of restaurants to choose from, I highly recommend Junior’s. Just a couple of issues - check in is a nightmare, expect a long wait with no seating to accommodate. The staff do their best, but more staff or a different process is needed. You can check in online if you wish. Also, the drink service in the casino is almost non-existent. Went even as long as 3 hours for someone to come by, and there was hardly anyone in the casino (mid-week). A little off the beaten path which makes it quite a bit quieter than the strip! All in all I would recommend to anyone.
Avoid this resort!!!!

Stay anywhere else but here. We had so many issues that they literally ruined our vacation. The staff is incompetent and very rude. Plus, they rip you off. Bogus valet charges on the bill, etc. I will never stay here again. May avoid Hilton all together due to this resort. Awful, awful, awful.
Rude, Disrespectful, and Unapologetic. Big disappointment. Highly *not* recommended.

I loved this hotel and its amenities. It's located a bit far from the Las Vegas main attractions, and it's a bit *too modern* which deviates from that classic Vegas feeling. But that's all ok in my opinion. However, their staff, especially the Security Staff is highly disrespectful, unprofessional and really hurt the hotel's reputation. Some colleagues from my company and I stayed there and were kicked out of the hotel due to some new invasive policies in which they reserved the right to search your room at any time whether you have the Do Not Disturb door tag or not. Unfortunately, the hotel did *not* disclose this information beforehand at check-in and there was *no* note inside the room. Did someone forget to tell us about this policy?? The inspections took everyone by surprise. I asked questions to make sure the security guys were who they said they were, but they were arrogant, impatient, and demanded to open the door or else they would evict us, call the police and charge us with trespassing. All we wanted was to call our manager and front desk for instructions and confirmation, but it didn't take very long before two *armed guards* stepped in front of the door, I was afraid for my life, so I had no choice but to open the door. As soon as I did, they barged into my room, demanded to surrender our IDs, took pictures of us and all our belongings without our consent, *shouted out loud* the hotel's policy, and escorted us out of the property. On our way to the elevator the same scene could be observed for other guests on the same hallway. When I asked about this, they pulled out a list and said that this was because we were attending the Def Con 32 conference, and we had to comply with mandatory daily search policies to guarantee the safety of other guests and the property. I can't believe how *rude* and *ignorant*... Def Con is a Cybersecurity Convention where professionals and afficionados exchange system vulnerability discoveries so others can make information systems safer for everyone. At the lobby they said I needed to cancel my reservation but didn't allow me to approach the front desk. There were around 7 or 8 more armed guards waiting for us and the other people evicted from the building. When we called over the phone and explained what happened, the operator changed the subject and didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. One of the guests managed to have a conversation with one of the security staff, and they showed him pictures of the "dangerous hacking tools they were after"... breadboards, soldering tools (for the convention workshops), antennas, cables, LEDs, wireless APs, pineapple, and other devices. I wonder what kind of nefarious danger these devices could've inflicted on other guests and their property... Hilton at Resorts World may have the right to perform searches, but aggressively targeting Cybersecurity professionals over harmless electronic devices is not only discriminatory, but also ignorant and disrespectful. If the hotel trains their security personnel to behave like savages, I wonder where else they're missing the point and abusing people's trust. If you care about your safety and the safety of your loved ones, *stay away* from this hotel!!!
Nickle and dimed…if only!

The resort was beautiful, and our room was very clean. But the super competitive room rate was extremely inconsistent with the price of everything else. I would expect to pay more for a wonderful dining experience like the one we had at Brezza. It was exceptional! And BTW the bill was about $200 for four of us, not bad at all! But to be presented with a $400 plus bill at the pool bar for seven drinks and a couple plates of nachos for the four of us…that was the first red flag. In our room, there was a tray with treats and snacks that also included a small bottle of wine. There was a card in front of the tray that said if you pick up any item for more than 30 seconds, you’ll be charged for it. Seriously?! Our friend picked up the bottle of wine in his room just to read the label and then found it on his bill at check out. Thankfully, it was refunded, but…??? Granted, I’ve only been to Vegas a handful of times, so perhaps other hotels do this too, but if you wanted shade from an umbrella at the pool, that came with a high price tag as well, at a per person rate. Shade. It just seemed like they had figured out how to charge you for everything and anything every which way. I’d use the term “nickel and dimed”…if only! If you wanted early check-in or check-out, $50. The list goes on and on. The reason I’m writing this review is to let people know that they should set their expectations accordingly and not let the affordable room prices fool you into thinking that the rest of your experience at Resorts World will follow suit.
