Great but terrible.

First the Pros. Hotel is beautiful. Nice layout. Easy walk to everywhere. Beach is wonderful.(bring water shoes are there are small coral and shell). Room layout nice, (more about that in cons). Food in restaurants is excellent, except breakfast. (more about that in Con (more about that in cons) Service for the most part was great (more about that in cons). If you want a nice place to go and like a laid back atmosphere, this is the place for you. Shout out to Wendy, Aaron and Axel. Without them this vacation would have been terrible. Cons 1. Resort is 2.5 hours from the airport. And how highway!!! 2. Breakfast...good food but the same everyday. Only one place to eat breakfast. They keep the fresh fruit and breakfast stuff out in the open and there are flies EVERYWHERE. No attempt to keep them off or food covered. Kind of disgusting, especially since the fruit is so good. Several people commented and complained. Again, no attempted to put anything over food. 3. Room... While the layout is great two things. The sink is actually in the sleeping area. Kind of strange. Plus the sink in made in such a way that when you turn the water on it splashes all over you and the floor. You have to turn water on, stand to the side to keep from getting wet. Then you have to put bath mat down so the floor doesn't get soaked. 4. Shower...Heard from may guest that like us they could not get either the rain shower or the handheld spray to work by themselves. The little knob that is suppose to switch between the two are broken. (in several rooms????) . This causes low water pressure in both. Such a simple fix. 5. Customer service.... Was going out on excursion and the pool towels were out. Went to front desk to ask them to send someone over to replenish. Told to take room towels. NO, SEND SOMEONE REPLENISH!!!! 6. First night went to pull blackout curtain and didn't see like there was one. Went to front desk before breakfast to ask about that. Clerk said all rooms have them. Told them we didn't see them in ours. Clerk said he didn't have anyone to check on them until later. We said ok. Go to the room after breakfast and the room is dark. Someone came put let them down. After inspecting how they got them down we realized that is was electric. Search room for remote and finally fount it. Why didnt' he just ask us at the desk if we realized that they came down by remote and tell us where to locate remote. May see trivial but attitude is not what I expected. 7. Coming back off excursion last day. Stopped at front desk and asked Robert if I could verify my departure time and place. He seemed to have no clue on how to find that. Lucky for us that Wendy, the concierge came by and told us the info. (She is so nice. Makes sure everything is going well every time she sees you. She setup some lovely stuff for my wife's bday.) When we got to the room, they had slipped the departure info under the door. One of the paper said I needed to get an "exit inspection" ticket if we were leaving the hotel between 12a and 7a. We were to depart at 6a. I went back downstairs to ask ROBERT about this inspection, as I hav been traveling for over 40 years and have never heard of such a thing. He tell me, in his "I could care less" attitude that it is there policy and that I would need to bring my credit card back to the desk so that once the inspection is down they can release the hold. I ask him nicely why he didn't mention that before I went up when he clearly heard Wendy say my departure was at 6a. He just look at me with eyes that are saying "really". Now I am getting pissed. This is the attitude you give customers.????? So I go up, get my card, come back and hand it to him. He's says he didn't have anybody just then to inspect room but that he would send somebody, to just leave the card until them. ABSOLUTELY NOT. I am not leaving my card with this guy. I asked him for my card back and told him that I would come back after someone inspects the room. He says OK and throws my card on the counter. I am really ready to flip now. I said, sir I handed you my card and it is rude to throw my card on the counter. He pick it up and pushes it at me. So I say, so you made me go get the card but don't really need the card until after the inspection, you could have just said that when I went to get the card. Again another dumb look. As I am walking away, the security guard, who we had met the night before, (he watched the Knick game with us) said, Hey, I'll go look at the room, just wait here. So I did. He comes back and ROBERT is now not happy, he probably would have sent someone at 2a to inspect. My wife said the guard come to the room, said hello and left. I get my "exit ticket". For those reasons, I would not recommend this resort!!! It was not, but I will not be treated like that. If you look at my review from the past you will see I never detail and cons and always find the good, but I felt I needed to give this honest review this time.

Dinner

Had dinner at the Tao restaurant....food was excellent and our waiter Kenneth was very attentive and polite. Made our dinner experience memorable!!

Amazing

Absolutely amazing experience all around, all of the staff was great. Yesion at the pool bar took extra care of us, his drinks was amazing, food was fabulous, but most of all his vibe, his attitude and smile was top notch. He was so attentive to us and made sure no matter where we was he took care of us.

The location was great and the staff were amazing! Our favorite was guy was Yeison and he was the best! He was so sweet and the energy was always up and so fun! Each day he made us the best vibes and drinks! He was wonderful. ?????? All the staff was great and connected with the guests so well! Thanks for the great experience and will be back! ????????????

Tao Dining Experience

Kenneth and his staff did a amazing job with dinner tonight at Tao. The food was fantastic and attention to detail was noticed and appreciated. I highly recommend going there while staying at Hotel Azura. Thanks Kenneth. Yall we're awesome.
