Food not as good, entertainment not as good, and depends on your room, be careful with bay view that is too far from everything, either you will walk for so long (stairs most of it) or you will wait for their shuttle that does not operate for 24 hours. Be careful booking either on the beach tours they are not very good at all.

Terrible disappointing experience. Started with confirmed pick up at. Airport. Not there came an hour later when got help to call. Check in ok but no explanation of charges. Room view great. Room is in desperate need of repairs. Buffet dinner barely edible. 2 cheap win s offered and no selection. Very poor quality most starches available. Had hopes for breakfast. Never had such bland rice and beans and I’ve eaten many as several trips to Costa Rica. Breakfast disappointing. Service and friendliness doesn’t exist. Had better food ate Holiday Inn Express San Jose airport. Asked to eat at sit down Italian restaurant. Couldn’t accommodate a single women. My first time at an all inclusive but would hesitate doing it again. You have to go to your room by their truck vehicle. If you are a single woman it’s dangerous getting down deep step. I’m in good shape but was a challenge. Might be a good fit for 20-30! Years old who don’t know quality and come for water sports. If a senior avoid this so called adult inclusive resort

My wife and I had an amazing week, everything was perfect the food was delicious the accommodations were fantastic and our friend edduar made sure we always had everything we needed. It was our first time to Costa Rica and we will absolutely be back to stay at the occidental.

Location was excellent on a nice clean sandy beach with chairs which we used every day we stayed there for 5 days I wish we could have stayed longer the atmosphere is quite rooms are clean service was super nice friendly service shuttle was available within minutes the thing I liked most is location view food was fresh and hot just like home cooked meal. I will give it 5 stars we were there husband and wife for our 43rd anniversary I hope I can go back soon

Online reviews don’t do much justo this place! Great location, property cleanliness, food service and pleasant staff are just the beginning. We were pleasantly surprised with our stay given the price we paid for a five night stay.
