Me and my wife came for a wedding. We greatly enjoyed our time at the villa sol beach resort. The staff were especially welcoming during our stay. We enjoyed all the amenities offered to us, and would like to say a special thank you for Gerald at the wet bar. His friendly and professional attitude added a special memory to our first visit that will not be forgotten. Jeison was always a friendly face to see, and Tamara was especially helpful in helping me practice my spanish. We will definitely be returning in the future. Pura Vida!

Our rooms were awful at this resort. We had two rooms and both did not have air conditioning. One did not have a working shower and there was urine on the toilet seat when we checked in. The door was broken and did not open and close well and there were huge holes in the door. This let in a lot of bugs and we woke up with bites. The breakfast is not good. They do not have the cold food kept cold and the hot food lights were shut off over the pancakes. I let someone know but they remained off during our entire stay. I would never stay here again.

Check in was swift, the ladies are multi lingual and very professional ad helpful. Shuttle whisk you all around the property from reception to the dining/pool area, the wet pool and down to the beach. The beach is a very long sandy beach with a good swell but it breaks at the shoreline, not not too good for surfing. The water is pleasantly warm and relaxing. Our room 2115, was immaculately maintained with an excellent view of the bay. he room had a tv, fridge, AC, and sufficient hanging space. The bed unfortunately (in our room) was extremely hard. Mid stay we received an email from Guest Services asking how tings were. We had a couple of minor irritations, which we mentioned, meaning for them to correct before the next guests arrive. Twenty minutes later, there is a knock at the door and a workman here to fix everything. Now that's service! The dining area was open sided overlooking the Bay with incredible views The food is wholesome without being spectacular, but the thing that made our stay memorable was the staff. Our interaction with them made our stay so much more enjoyable. We amongst the few English speakers, yet if you go to the trouble of asking the staff 'good morning, how are you today?', it shows civility and manners and they will respond in kind. There is a resident cat that lurks around the dining room and racoons also make unannounced visits. Keep your eyes out for the White Throated Magpie Jay's - they will swoop down and pinch your food if you are not paying attention. But these interactions are all part of the attraction of Villas Sol. Sunsets are spectacular, and once over, there is always a large bright shining star in the western sky - except it's not a star - it's the planet Venus. Sometimes they might run out of English Breakfast tea, but in the overall scheme of things this is truly a first world problem. The staff treat you like family so meal times are quite enjoyable. We thoroughly enjoyed at Villas Sol and will be back next year.

Stay away from this horrible experience. This used to be a great place to stay in Playa Hermosa and now in full decline. Run away!

I had the best experience here, the workers were amazing. I loved sofia, byron, melvin, diego, carlos, estefan & marco! Everyone here is so kind & accommodating; will be coming back. Made real connections, that made our trip even more special!
