Central and clean

Hotel was conveniently located in downtown LA. Room was spacious and clean but windows very thin. Annoying that you pay taxes and additional fees for a room on check in but yet a huge chain such as Hilton cannot provide complimentary wifi. My only complaint logistically here is I desperately required a landline to call my bank as my credit card had been frozen - it transpired after a few attempts of using my room phone that the hotel had disabled international calls, I find this problematic for an international chain hosting many international guests. Otherwise would recommend if a comfy bed and central location is what you’re after!
Lovely hotel with helpful staff

Lovely hotel, but a bit out of the way, it's beside Little Tokyo, not much choice for eating unless it's Chinese/Asian. Limited menu in hotel but the food is very good. Rooms are spotlessly clean and spacious. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Multiple cars broken into on 3 different levels of their parking garage while security was “patrolling”

3 cars on 3 different levels got broken into in their parking garage that has 1 entrance to it that’s not being watched, when confronted about it they will tell you there’s nothing they can and that skid row is down the street. Don’t stay here..
I love the cookies, but not the cockroaches.

We stayed on a Thursday through Saturday while in town to attend our daughter's wedding festivities. Overall the hotel is nice in appearance, but the room smelled a little musty and the worse thing was the cockroach in the bathroom. When we reported it, they did offer to waive our parking, but said they could not do anything about the room charge since We booked using our credit card points. We would have to contact Capital one. We contacted Capital one and they said we had to go to the merchant, the hotel. Eventually they contacted the hotel while I was on the phone and was told they we needed to provide proof. Darn it. I should have asked the cockroach to wait while I got my camera. I guess what they are saying is that they don't care. And, Capital One didn't go to bat for us. Only offered a measly $50 travel credit.
Clean, comfortable, convenient

My son and I spent a couple days in Downtown LA. While the surrounding area may make people who aren't used to downtown areas (street people, etc.) uneasy, we found the hotel to be a nice oasis, within a short walk of Union Station (we were traveling on Amtrak), and close to the Metro and many attractions. The hotel is a bit dated, but our room was clean, comfortable, and remarkably quiet. There's an outdoor garden that was nice, but needs a little TLC. Staff was very friendly and helpful. If you're there during the week, make sure you visit the nearby City Hall, which has a free open-air 27th floor observation deck. We found the surrounding area safe. Just pay attention to your surroundings and you'll do fine. (Grand Central Market at Broadway & Third is a ten-minute walk and full of great-looking dining choices. We enjoyed a tasty breakfast there at a place called Eggslut!)
