Greet Service ... Excellent Stay!

Flewelc on Sep 09, 2024

We had an excellent stay here 31 Aug to 7 Sep. The rooms were clean and spacious. Food was always good and a good variety was at hand. Service was exceptional. Special mention goes to Martha Ramirez, Carlos Salinas, Heidi Pena and Javier Armento who served at the buffet restaurant. I have stayed at many all-inclusives and I can say that the staff here were the best I have come across.

Great place

The people of Barceló were always attentive and kind to me. Great place to have vacation time. Food services are delicious and fresh, the instalations are very very nice, the beach was near to the instalations and my favourite part was walking around the beach :)

Flawless facilities, impeccable cleanliness, and incredibly friendly staff. This all-inclusive resort exceeded our expectations. We had a fantastic view of the sea from our room. Note: we were not able to swim in the ocean as the beach was red-flagged due to big waves, but there were plenty of other activities to enjoy. Highly recommend for a relaxing and enjoyable stay!

Awesome Barceló Los Cabos!

Héctor M on Sep 06, 2024

The service is excellent. The front desk team is awesome, (Marcos did a great job!) and also the waiters, the kitchen team, all the people was great! Special thank you to Salvador from Albatros. The only thing I would say can be improved is the healthy options for kids. I think the hotel can have grill chicken, grill beef or something that represents a good option but not necessarily something bad tasty.

Enjoyed our time!

jselsi (Long Beach, California) on Sep 05, 2024

Honest review from a serial all-inclusive resort traveler. I'll be honest, it was a rough start when we arrived, check in took a little longer than expected, and sadly it wasn't the typical resort entrance that I'm accustomed to, wide open spaces, drinks handed to us, all of that, but that didn't set the tone for our stay at all. We walked to our room and realized that it was a bit underwhelming, it was nice and clean, and we had a partial view of the ocean, and our balcony went out to the view of the pool, we were on the 5th floor. The only thing I did not like was the fact that we had 2 beds in our room when I booked 1 king. it was comparable to a business type hotel back in the states (think, La Quinta, or Holiday Inn Express). We called down and was given a tour of their upgraded suites by Marco (I think that was his name, his name tag was a little faded) anyway, he was awesome and very accommodating, we appreciated his help. So, we moved rooms to the next building over, 6th floor with a view of the entire resort and ocean. Room - Firstly, the air conditioning was not pushing out cold air (it was hot and humid out), it wasn't until maybe the next evening that it actually started to kick in and hit below 75 degrees finally. The room itself was large and spacious and felt more like a typical resort versus the initial room we had. It was clean, bed/pillows were very comfy, TV had a good number of channels for parents and kids. The room we stayed in had a hot tub (with jets) that opened to the main bedroom, a nice balcony that opened out to the view of the resort, good number of outlets for charging electronics, large closet with a lot of hangers, ironing board, iron, pool towels, robes and bath slippers. The bathroom came with small bottles of essentials, hair dryer and ample lighting. Plain and simple, the room was lovely. One negative aspect was the heat from the door, although our balcony faced the resort (beautiful view) the door to our room faced west, so that sunset heat was really hitting our door, but it wasn't bad. Resort - the resort was overall nice, it's a lot different than the resorts I've stayed at in the past, it did feel like a larger hotel versus the small quaint resorts I'm used to. Pool area and other buildings were nicely manicured, decent amount of shade from the buildings and palm trees scattered. The resort itself goes deep down towards the shore. There were 3 main pools that I actually took a dip in, there's the larger pool with the swim up bar, with a grill across from there (you'd have to get out of the pool to grab food, of course), ample amount of chairs, towel counter at the pool, the second pool was a little smaller with a volleyball net, this is where they also have the entertainment during the day, and the last pool was a decent sized infinity pool that had a view of the sand towards the ocean. Now, because of the location, the ocean waters are rough and a few feet from the shore into the water is a deep drop off, the red warning flags were waving the entire time we were there, and the staff also warned us upon check in that swimming in the ocean is strictly prohibited due to safety reasons. So, as you can imagine, there were no water sport activities near the beach, and hardly any seating areas on the sand, just scattered covered seating areas, nothing too fancy. There were lots of activities going on, water volleyball, ping pong tables, large chess board, books to read etc., there was also a play area for small children. There was a basketball court, full air-conditioned gym (free weights, machines, etc.), and a small cafe that served Starbucks coffee. Towards the front before the entrance of the resort there was a gift shop, a bar up top a tower, and scattered restaurants throughout. Since we upgraded our room, we were provided with a new wrist band that allowed us access to their Premier area where they had a snack bar, fully stocked alcohol bar, fridge with a large selection of beverages and small bites. Food - It's resort food, let's be honest, it wasn't BAD, but it wasn't spectacular. We ate at the buffet most of the time and honestly, the freshly grilled food was way better than what was offered at the buffet, this seems to be the ongoing theme for most all-inclusive resorts, so I wasn't expecting too much. Overall, the food was decent, the drinks were good, the staff at all the restaurants were very nice and friendly. Our last night they had a Mexican theme dinner and a show out in their courtyard, it was very fun and entertaining. Excursions - At the reception area, there is an excursion desk with reps to help book your excursions, the one we chose was the 4x4 offroad excursion on ATVs, they have more to choose from. Most excursions are about 30+ minutes from our resort (seems they're mostly closer to Cabo San Lucas), but as a California native, the drives weren't too bad at all. We also played golf at a nearby golf course (Puerto Los Cabos Golf Club about 15 minutes away via car), awesome course, although an uphill drive for the first tee box was not ideal for a beginner, GREAT food at every service stop, friendly staff and golf carts are in top shape. Parking - If you decide to rent a car, it's an easy drive from the airport, roughly 20 minutes, and parking is free, the lot is safe and guarded. Surroundings - Outside the resort is quiet, on both sides are other resorts and across the street are small stores and mainly lots that looked like possible residential/vacation rentals? I'm not too sure. There's an Oxxo a few miles up the way and that's pretty much it, it felt safe outside the resort, people were jogging and walking their dogs early in the mornings, there wasn't too much traffic, hardly any cars passing by, again, very quiet. Weather - We went end of July, it was hot and humid, the sun was intense but the skies were clear and the nights were comfortable. Overall - I would definitely stay here again, being from Southern California, it's a quick 2hr flight and the climate is similar to home, just a tad humid, San Jose del Cabo itself seems a lot calmer than Cabo San Lucas. The accessibility to this place was ideal, if you're looking for a resort that's not overly crowded this is the spot. The only downside is if you're a beach person and love to swim in the ocean, this might not be the best choice, neither are any of the rest of the resorts down this coast as the waters are VERY rough. This resort is for the calmer individuals, couples, families with children of all ages, there's something to do for everyone (even the kids were participating in karaoke night, it was cute!). Staff was great and very friendly, there weren't any timeshare reps (always a plus!!), definitely the spot for R&R. Can't wait to go back.
