While the room was nice (despite the kitchen was stocked shoddily) the people made this trip less than par. The front desk staff were uncompassionate and unfriendly, and the staff in general seemed more eager to avoid eye contact and interaction, than to offer a simple greeting. I will not go back to this property and would recommend perhaps the El Cid marina for folks who need to stick with this company (timeshares ect). Very disappointed.

We discovered that our booking was non-inclusive and that did not make us to happy, however, it was late and we decided to deal with it in the morning. Our check in server was not very welcoming.
Our first night we were placed in room 1829 and it was late around 10 pm before we tried to settle in. This was guaranteed not happen with the loud booming bar across the street it was horrible and unbearable. Called down to the front desk and complained they were able to move us across the hall to room 1822, the noise subsided substantially. We were able to settle down and would deal with our stay in the morning.
Dry, cold, boring. We went to the ala cart restaurants and were served raw chicken at the Thai restaurant that we pointed out to our server, she just shrugged her shoulders and carried on, like seriously you can kill someone with that. We went to the Italian restaurant and ordered a margarita pizza, could not eat a piece of dry round bread with tomato soup and cheese on it.
We noticed that someone had ice cream at one of our buffet dinners in the Moro and asked our server if we could have some, his reply was that it is an extra charge - What are you kidding me ice cream, after what we paid for all inclusive. this is appalling.
Too bad the pool at the Moro is not heated, this prevents anyone from using it. Why bother having it.
Because we raised a bit of a fuss I believe they staff were happy to be rid of us, they have an attitude like we have your money now get out. We asked for an extended check out time and they would not go past 2 pm, cut off our bracelets and herded us out, very poor attitudes.
Front staff do not care, we upgraded to all inclusive and paid well over market value for mediocre service, food and our stay. When we upgraded the concierge lady slipped and said all inclusive typically runs around 140 to 200 a night which we had already paid through our package deal. They they up charged us to $330/night for subpar service, food and accommodations.

First trip and will be going back. Staff was excellent. Very attentive to our needs. Comfortable beds and great views from the room. Nice selection from the buffets with menu’s that could be ordered from.

I had a good time at El Cid, the food and drinks are great, the hospitality it's amazing. You are able to go to the sister resorts at no extra charge, i went to the El Cid Marina and had an amazing breakfast there.

The hotel room furniture is needing some updating. The service was acceptable. If you are on the wrong side of the hotel the noise from the clubs nearby will keep you awake all night. The prices for beverages and food was a bit high for the quality. Do check out the other El Cid properties.
