Disrepair and poorly managed
Jill P (Las Vegas, Nevada) on Jul 11, 2026
Having visited Atlantis over many years, this trip left me with the impression that the resort is showing signs of deferred maintenance and inconsistent operational oversight. While there have been a few cosmetic renovations, the restrooms in the Royal Towers already require repairs. More concerning was the lack of routine attention from staff. On multiple occasions, the restrooms were out of paper towels and appeared to go unchecked for extended periods. Small details like these have a significant impact on the overall guest experience at a resort of this caliber. The Rapids River on July 10 was another example of operational challenges. It appeared to be significantly understaffed, leaving the employees on duty overwhelmed as guests competed for tubes. One of the tube conveyor belts was also out of service, causing tubes to accumulate out of circulation and making an already frustrating situation worse. Meanwhile, at other areas of the attraction, staff members were gathered together socializing while busier sections struggled to keep up. Atlantis remains a beautiful property with incredible amenities, but it feels as though investment in day-to-day operations has not kept pace with its reputation or pricing. More attention to preventative maintenance, staffing levels, and active frontline management would go a long way toward restoring the high standard of service guests expect.
Time of our life

Elgin that in charge of the aquarium went above and beyond. He made my family and my son feel so welcome here. Elgin found out my son was with Make A Wish and give him the V.I.P. backstage tour and he love it. Thank you for making his day.

Beautiful and luxurious properties. Amazing amenities, things to do for all ages. Never a dull moment or an "I'm bored" comment.
Atlantis Is Still Magical, But Maintenance Is Falling Behind
MrsBlum (Fort Lewis, Washington, United States) on Jul 10, 2026
After our second stay at Atlantis, I would love to see a few improvements. The hotel lobby is absolutely beautiful, and the employees are consistently kind, welcoming, and helpful. We also really enjoyed the food, amenities, and spent even more time snorkeling during this visit. Unfortunately, the condition of the rooms in the main tower continues to be disappointing. Like many other guests have mentioned, the rooms have a strong musty odor. The bathrooms have no exhaust fans to remove moisture, which likely contributes to the problem. We stayed in Room 8516 for the second time, and it is clear that the room is not being maintained as well as it should be. The bathroom door would not fully open or close, the grout in the bathroom is failing, and there are several areas where the paint and patchwork need attention. These maintenance issues make the room feel dated and poorly cared for, despite the otherwise beautiful resort. One of my biggest concerns, however, was the amount of plastic trash floating in the water and washing up on the beach. While snorkeling and spending time along the shoreline, we saw numerous pieces of plastic debris, including several plastic drinking straws. I understand that many of these straws likely come from the independent beach vendors rather than the resort itself. However, I believe Atlantis is in a unique position to help protect the incredible marine environment surrounding the property. Requiring all beach vendors operating nearby to use biodegradable or compostable straws and food containers, similar to those already used by the resort, would be a meaningful step toward reducing plastic pollution. Atlantis is an incredible destination with amazing staff, beautiful grounds, and unforgettable marine experiences. With greater attention to room maintenance and a stronger commitment to reducing single-use plastics on the beach, the guest experience would be even better while helping preserve the beautiful ocean that makes this resort so special.
The royal Atlantis family vacation

Great location and vacation for families the royal rooms are dated and need updating. The restaurants are not as great as what you experience in Mexico in terms of diversity of foods. The water park is amazing and aquariums that you walk through amazing. My son loved the water park and kids activities
