Amazing hotel

Our stay in this hotel was absolutely amazing! We loved food, our room view, wonderfull pool with lazy river and close location to all atractions. The only issue was poor room ventilation so we couldn't dry out our wet swimwear properly.
Not friendly to Service Animals

I have had a service animal for years at this point and bring her everywhere I let the hotel know beforehand and have all paper work did not matter to them they made me feel like I was a criminal for having her, they said they need to Come in the room for a wellness check (never had that happen) while I was in the room with my service animal and my husband no noise no reason for an alarm but at 9am with the do not disturb on the door they proceeded to come in the room I had the latch locked thankfully - Gary the manager and the front desk person Kalab were so rude and insensitive in general which sucks because we used to get over the bad plumbing and smelly rooms but this was too much not worth it for a larger room

Had an amazing time at cabana bay. Excellent hotel with brilliant theming. Convinent free shuttle to universal was a bonus. Really liked the refill cups, these were good value. Would have been nice for a few more vegetarian options in the bay liner but the food we had was very nice. Really enjoyed the starbucks and recived wonderful service from sue, who was always so friendly and welcoming. Stayed before but this was the first time I was asked if we were celebrating an occasion, which we were, and was given a birthday badge and slice of cake which was a nice touch. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in orlando . Look forward to visiting again in the future

There’s nothing wrong I can say with staying at the Cabana Bay. Our check-in was quick and easy. The front desk agent, Emilie, was a great help and fantastic with customer service. She was incredibly welcoming and efficient. She drew a nice map for us of the hotel with times of each location such as the pool and dining facilities. Great worker! The rooms were perfect, located at the 10th floor with a pool side view, extremely clean and beds were cozy and comfy. Everyday we came to a completely refreshed room as if it were a check-in day everyday. The dining was amazing, food I would give a 10 out of 10. Whether it be for breakfast lunch or dinner, the food I had was amazing and same goes for my family. I came back to the hotel because my first time was just as great with early access to the parks and the convenience of being one of the lesser-priced universal resorts and I wanted to treat my mom to the parks and hotel because she hadn’t been in over 10 years and she was very happy with the stay and the parks. The Starbucks was quick and so convenient to have in the hotel. Staff were extremely friendly as well. The pool area could do with some more upbeat music. It was a little too slow and soft and kinda depressing. If they had more fun pop or something, that would be great. I know it’s a family hotel but you don’t want to listen to 3 Sam smith songs while enjoy a margarita. Regardless pool was clean, plenty of chairs, lazy River was awesome and relaxing. We ordered a pizza to the room from their dining one night after getting back from the parks late and it was soooo good! It hit the spot I also wanted to give a special shout out to the Vacation Planning Desk workers Dj and Carleigh, they helped me and my family buy tickets for express pass for Halloween horror nights. We casually asked how much they were going for and they let us know how much plus the fact that they were going to sell out for the event and they helped us purchase the tickets with speed and priority. Extremely friendly and great conversation. They looked like they had great teamwork and enjoyed doing what they were doing. Really appreciate front desk and vacation planning employees! Overall a good time was had in Cabana bay, good location to Universal parks and not too far from Disney, although traffic on the I-4 really busy at all times. A good hotel, good food from the Bayliner Diner, nice cocktails from the Swizzle bar, Starbucks on-site which was a bonus for my wife, lovely pools and lazy river, good free bus transport to the Universal parks (although can be busy first thing), plenty of car parking on site, but pricey at $18 per night, which adds about $270 inc taxes to a 14 night stay. Only drawbacks were the Bayliner dining area too cold, uncomfortably so on occasion, and they need more staff on check in desk, I queued for almost an hour just to check out as I wanted to speak to someone. Lots of irate people in the queue with me. There are other ways to check out, would do one of those next time!
