Great stay. Handy location

loopyloz83 (Skipton, United Kingdom) on May 10, 2024

Wonderful modern hotel close to all the attractions. I enjoyed the fact that hotel was more compact that the other universal hotels. Room to lobby time is quick. In room tech is great (although sometimes would have just preferred to use a tv remote!). Loved that there was free hot water and milk / sugar - handy for me bringing my Yorkshire tea bags! ?? so bring your tea bags and a reusable cup! Also great to use the cola freestyle machines for ice and water if you don’t want to buy the refillable cups. We brought our own insulated bottles to use at the parks so it was great to fill up before we left. Handy to be able to Collect our park tickets at the desk and to be able to keep our luggage at the lobby so we could explore on our last morning. We had a couple of meals in the urban pantry - particularly loved the pizzas and the noddle bar. Whilst it is more a self serve eatery than table service the quality was great. Handy for walking to volcano bay - literally minutes. Great free shuttle bus to take you to city walk although we preferred to walk over to the water taxi at sapphire falls which takes you right in to city walk Exceptionally clean hotel and well maintained grounds. Highly recommended.

We booked this hotel on a whim, spur of the moment vacation. So glad we did ! This hotel was awesome! Huge rooms, very spacious! Great location. The free Shuttle takes you to Universal's City Walk. Numerous bars and restaurants on site! Staff was awesome! Will stay here again!

Great hotel for the solo traveler

Travel05633729180 on May 07, 2024

This is a great hotel for the solo traveler. It's not heavily themed and has a great pool bar as well as a rooftop bar. The Staff is very friendly and the views are great. You can easily walk to the parks or take a water taxi from next door. Highly recommend.

Comfortable hotel with shuttle service to Universal city walk

seema60 (Toronto, Canada) on May 06, 2024

We got an early check in on arrival which we appreciated a lot. The room was big with all the requisite amenities. They had a coffee machine and accoutrements. The overall decor was very cookie cutter and could be improved. We found using the shuttles was easy but the wait times to go to another hotel for a wedding reception were annoying. It was easy to access the universal city walk from this hotel with the shuttle. It was a comfortable stay.

Nice hotel, but many issues

Bob K (Dyer, Indiana) on May 05, 2024

The hotel facilities overall were wonderful, we were extremely happy with them. Most of the staffing were great as well. We had some problems with our stay however, hence lower marks. When we booked, we got a Skyline room which the website description made it sound as if we'd be on the top few floors with big views of the parks. When we arrived, we requested a side for Volcano Bay view. We were very happy they could do so, very kind of the front desk, but it ended up being the 10th floor, which out of 17 total floors, is not what we expected. Our view consisted of the top of the volcano and the back of another hotel's parking garage. We could see some outskirts of Orlando, which was neat, just not what we expected. Apparently Cabana Bay towers have the full view of the waterpark. We had a short stay, so one night wanted to take advantage of the rooftop, but a private party was booked there. Not only could we not not be up there, but the party had loud club music playing until midnight, which we could hear thumping even down in our room keeping us awake. Something that particularly upset us was when we called the front desk about the noise, they simply asked us if we brought earplugs. That's not addressing the situation. I guess it's fine the hotel allows that, but those parties should be listed on the website to make guests aware of the situation so we can plan accordingly. Beyond that, we were looking forward to using the hot tub, but it was unheated the first day and closed the rest of our trip. I know it's a small detail, but overall we felt like like we'd bought a room at a higher price at Aventura for it's amenities, but didn't get to use the ones we really wanted, outside of the early park admission. Honestly we should be offered a credit of some sort. We wished we chose another hotel. Our vacation time is precious, it was our anniversary trip, and expected more. When we filled out the post trip survey with these comments, we simply got a generic reply email saying they were sorry for the problems. Yet again, not directly addressing our issues or offering a way to rectify.
