Theft, Dirty, Animal Feces in the pool, long line ups and Impossible reservation system!!

This is my 2nd time at this hotel and stayed April 2-9. The pools were a great temperature and often swam at night as the pools heated up during the day. The ocean was also beautiful and fun for my kids to play in the waves. Now for the bad... - The first room we were checked into on the ground floor did Not have a safe and the patio door did not close. We requested another room on floor 3, but I had to move the suitcases for 4 alone. - Minimal shade at the pirate ship pool. There are only a few tables available here. We ended up taking our chairs from our balcony the one day as this guaranteed us somewhere to sit. - Long, long, buffet line ups! If you slept in or waited too long, the line up at the buffet and snack stations were LOOONG, waiting 20-30 minutes - The time of the snack stations were inconsistent. Some days it opened as 12.. others 1pm.. again, long lines would form - Food was stolen out of our mini fridge the first night!!! We brought some snacks from home to keep for the kids. On the second day we noticed that this was missing... I approached the manager and she advised "It must have been taken by mistake". Not sure how these items get "mistakenly taken"... Its not a big deal but its definitely unsettling and you question what else of your items are missing... - Bland and boring food at buffet and snack bar. Same items everyday with seldom change. - Long drink lines. Not once did a server ask me while i was around the pool or beach area if i wanted a drink. Often I walked to the adults only side to get myself a drink - Bird, raccoon, and iguana fecal matter IN THE POOL! As people would leave their food unattended by the pools, animals would quickly swoop in, eat, and poop. My sons hat got pooped on by an iguana and i was in the pool and would watch white droppings fall from the sky from the birds. Late at night we would see the raccoons swim and crawl across the pirate pool as the scavenged the resort for food. - The supper reservation system is horrible. I only lucked out to get 2 reservations. The italian was at 9:30pm, which is completely ridiculous when traveling with a 5 and 8 year old. The food here was also bland and lukewarm. - Evening shows at Nitro were mostly spanish and didnt start until 8:30 or 9pm My assumption is this hotel caters mostly to Mexicans (mostly spanish spoken throughout the resort, later meal times, primary spanish). Often lots of language barriers. This hotel is in walking distance to the marina, flea market, and Chedrui shopping store. It was great having this near by for easy shopping. TIP - most flea market stores are open when there are cruise ships at port, otherwise it is much quieter or completely closed. We traveled via Westjet Vacations and it was rated as a 4 star. I think it has gone downhill since I was here 2 years ago and will not return. I think this is closer to a 3-star hotel and shouldnt be offered to Canadians.

Worse all inclusive in Mexico. Don't waste your money.

Rude staff, under staffed, rooms falling apart. We stayed for 4 nights and they couldn't accommodate us into a specialty restaurant, so we were stuck eating breakfast lunch and dinner at the buffet.

Everything I wanted and expected!

Let me first say that I was really worried about coming based on the negative reviews I had seen. If you're expecting a 5 star resort with staff who all speak perfect English and is full of Americans, then please think again. If you're the sort to get offended by wear and tear in the room of what is an older resort, then please think again. My boys and I had a wonderful time at the Crown Paradise Club. The staff were all so friendly and if they didn't have the best English, who cares - Google Translate is very easy to use! We had no problems getting a roll-away bed for my youngest. The room was clean, everything worked (door, AC, phone, safe) and had the best view (I recommend room 427, see my photos). I emailed the resort in advance and lucked out with the room. The pools looked great, we spent all our time at the 'activity' pool by the beach. Never had a problem getting a lounger and the pool was not cold. Kids were slightly too old for the zipline but I enjoyed watching the kids having a blast every morning. We didn't bother with the specialty restaurants, my kids preferred the buffet and there was so much choice every night. (We actually ended up at a different all inclusive after our flight back to Canada was cancelled and that really made us all appreciate how great the buffet was at Crown Paradise!!) Overall the vacation was EXACTLY what I wanted and expected from it. Unless you are super high maintenance and entitled, don't fear the reviews, just go and have a great time!

Traveling with kids who love water parks and animation, they might enjoy it

We stayed 5 days. The only good things were that the kids had a lot of fun at the water park on the ship, the activities for them in the theater, and especially the pool team , Fernanda was very attentive with the kids and super friendly when helping them get on the zipline. The French restaurant San Souci is the only one I recommend. The food was good and the waitresses were very attentive and professional. (With luck, you can get a reservation) Other than that, the facilities are old, there isn’t much variety of food in the other restaurants, there aren’t enough shaded places to sit, there are long lines to order drinks at the bar, the elevators often don’t work, and there was a very long waiting time for check out.

Our stay was excellent. The hotel stands out for its impeccable cleanliness, beautiful facilities, and, above all, its outstanding service quality. I would like to give special recognition to Juan and Hipólito, the captains of the waitstaff, who provided professional service and were always attentive to every detail. Also, to the Activities team, especially Fernanda. For her charisma and great attitude, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Gracias!
