bad reservation in advance

pro :good location . nice people ,room clean and cold air ,but one problem erase all good thing con reservation require and average food and water beverage ,no bottle water and food awful .worse of all is reservation ,they just want you eat at buffet restaurant,not enough people service if you stay 4 days only give you 2 lousy reserve . if i can raise this iberostar resort only 3 star

No, no and no! Hign rates are mistake!

Read it and choose another resort. This is my long review for Iberostal Playa Mita we recently visited. I don't recommend this resort! I am confused how this resort earned so high rates. We paid for all inclusive 4 nights and 5 days. I don't really count 5 days, because the first and last day were just flights and out vacation!! time to solve problems. The only good was a resort territory and swimming pool. The entertainment was good too. But owners and management must really take care of guests and the resort. In short: 1. In fact it's not "All inclusive" 2. Food was terrible. All restaurants to dine in must be reserved in advance. No place to eat in between 5-7 pm, the dinner time. 3. Customer service - is terrible 4. Rooms are old, not renovated, with mold smell. 5. Resort sells masks for $1 US So, there are no evidence of all-inclusive resort. The only place you can eat is a buffet, coffee shop and on the beach cafe. Other places, such as Mexican, Japanese, French and Steak restaurants must be reserved in advance. Why the resort didn't tell about this situation when we booked the room? As a result, we were not able to dine in the restaurants on the first day because all restaurants were booked for three days in advance. How it's possible that all inclusive resort don't provide with the normal dishes between 5-7pm, the dinner time? Only coffee shop open. Buffet: masks is required, but if you don't have one, the hostess send you to resort's front desk to buy!!! a mask for $1 US dollar. Are you serious? One of the buffet employee was yelling on me when I came to her table with no mask. Pardon me, yelling to customer? Tell to your manager that someone is with no mask, but don't yell on your guest!!! The resort's manager Lesley finally helped me to reserve restaurants. But OMG, first, hire chefs who can make food. In Japanese we only liked the first and last dishes: the set of three roles and deserts. Other food was terrible. The only waiters worked excellent! Our table was served by Alexandro I believe. Another restaurant we had a chance to dine in was a Steak house. The resort must change the name of the restaurant because cooks there can't cook meat at all. Our booked time was at 7 p)m. We were very hungry, but noone wanted to serve us. Finally, I asked to bring us bread to feed kids. They did, but only at 8 pm they start bringing our main dishes. Instead of requested well done New York New York, I got bloody and not chewable meat. I also was in shock, when they brought me a food for my toddler 3.8 oy.o. from kids menu. Instead of mini chees burger they brought me a huge bun divided into two pieces with burger inside, with no cheese etc., the one was always next to the pool during lunch time. You can't imagine how I was upset. Noone from our family even tried the meat. Everything was made with no love and care of resort guests. The only working hard people were the hostess and the guy who was making a cesar salad. Btw, the fried onion was great and the bread they brought per my request. But, it's not the food we came for, we came for meat and it was not good. The side dishes were served separate, on the small plate with small size portion. So, "chefs" (if there are chefs) can't make yummy dishes in the resort. Our first room was with the strong mold smell, and I am pretty sure it was a mold in the room or bathroom due to some plumbing issues in the room. Don't tell me it's all about the humidity etc., there are more parts of Mexico with worse humidity level. I couldn't breath it and asked to give me another room. Thanks God, front desk employee Carlos helped me. Rooms are old with many non working items inside. In our friends room was a slippery floor. The refrigerator closet doors are hard to close, it's like it was made on 18th century. You need to close one side of the door to be able and lucky to close the other side, if.... if not, start it over and over... The board of the shower is so wrong built that when you take a shower the water floding the whole bathroom and hallway. I wanted to wash swim suits ans therefore closed the sink stopper. Do you think I could open it back? No, I couldn't. Finally, I removed it and the whole stopper was just dirty and black from the mold. Dear resort employees, have you ever check and clean it? Of course no, why, I better text to my friends and family while I am at work.. Forget about swimming in the ocean, even though the water is clean and warm, but waves are killing. Also, it's really annoying, I noticed that every 3rd employee texting via cellphone while at work. Nothing to do? Spend more time for better housekeeping. And don't tell me they are trying to rich a manager. So, my family and friends family came back home from vacation very upset, tired, not happy and not relaxed at all. I will be requesting my money back. This resort is not worth a money we paid.

Overrated resort

I have stayed at several all inclusive resorts...Beaches, RIU, Royalton, Dreams so I know what is good and what isn't. Iberostar Playa Mita is definitely not good. Check in went fine but the concierge service is poor. They didn't bother to set up my COVID test before returning to the US. They also told me the weekly theme buffet was at 6:30 but it was really 7:30. Employees here are uninformed and don't really care. First night at the resort I was looking for the nightly show area and when I would stop and ask an employee the response was "I don't know". They should know where things are. I have a Jr Suite Oceanfront Room. View was only OK, I was on a lower floor. The drawers were very small and very little closet space. Beach area-sand was hot and the beach is unswimmable. Plus the oceanwater stunk like fish. I know the Pacific is different from the Caribbean but I have been to Hawaii and the oceanwater there was much better. Pool area-you can't get towels until 9 am. I like to get up early to swim and not being able to have a towel is not good. Restaurants-very disappointed. Poor quality, no taste, and no variety. I ate at the steakhouse and the ribeye was very thin. I also had the "warm" apple pie for dessert and it was not warm. It tasted like it was just taken out of the fridge. I was so disgusted I walked out. Japanese restaurant, at the sushi and the next day I was very sick and spent the day in my room throwing up. Lunch and Dinner buffets, food quality was poor, strawberry cheesecake tasted rubbery and did not take like strawberry. Also they had the same things every day, The plates at the grill restaurant at the pool were dirty and had dried ketchup on them. Drinks-not very good either. I like daiquiris and they tasted like there was no rum in them. COVID test-got that done before I checked out the next day. They told me to come back at a certain time to get my results when I did I was informed to get them later in the day. A wasted trip from my room. Hotel layout was very weird and confusing, hard to find what you are looking for. Staff no help. Entertainment-the shows were the only good thing about this place. At least they hired professionals to do the shows. Will never stay at an Iberostar again. Even the RIUs are better than this. Since I have stayed at all three Beaches resorts in the Turks and Jamaica I wasn't expecting the Iberostar to be like them but this is ridiculous. Lousy customer service, poor food, and no drawer and closet space is ridiculous.

Great all inclusive for friends and family

Great place for all ages! Lots of fun activities. Elias and Ivan are so friendly and serve excellent wine with your buffet . Eliut is a fantastic salsa instructor. Carmen gives an excellent massage! Giraldo is a great person who welcomed us to the resort. Magaly the aquafit instructor makes it so fun! Guacamole! Tequila! Food is fantastic!

Best Resort with entertainment/activities

We absolutely loved our stay here! The staff is incredible, especially ELIUTT! He provided us with the best entertainment! Every day there’s something new going on ALL day. We kayaked raced, shot guns, played basketball, sang karaoke, played corn hole, and did a dart tournament. They have plenty of options for food, I would recommend their tacos which is located by the beach! Honestly you don’t even need to leave the resort because of all the entertainment they have. They had one of coolest acrobat shows that you don’t want to miss. This is somewhere you don’t want to miss out on.
