Good food and extra carrying staff

It was my second time to this hotel. I went two years ago at the same period and it is always a great experience. Quality and diversity of the food is great and the menu change daily with different specialities. The room are OK, lacking internet and a little bit dated, but everything is super clean and the AC make very little noice compare to other hotels I visited in the past. Most important, the people are very carring and always doing the extra mile to make your day special. Some have shared mexican receipies with me, other some drawings or just recommanded the best places to visit according to my liking, without going to far from the hotel. I also had the chance to see familar faces from my previous visit, like Fernando, who was the animator and a reason that I decided to return this year. But if you want to have a very cool animator, full of energy and hyper fun, you have to meet Jazmine. She's dedicated to give to all the hotel guests the best experience possible...and make you flex some hidden musclues! As long as Jazmine, Fernando and the rest of the crew remain the same, I have no interest to look for another hotel for my next trip in PV.

Horrendous

We were a group of 8 and our stay at this hotel was a nightmare. Everything about it was horrendous. The hotel is ancient and claustrophobic, with filthy rooms and absolutely abysmal food. The pool area is a joke – more like a puddle than a pool. Overall, my experience was a colossal waste of money. Those 5-star reviews? Don't be fooled, they must be fabricated by the hotel itself. Save yourself the agony and stay far away from this hellhole

Horrible resort

When we arrived at midnight on a Friday, they had our rooms messed up. 4 of us were travelling as friends, they put us each in a room with one king size bed and no balconies. We quickly asked for the change for 2 separate beds and was told the resort was full and nothing could be done. Front desk also said we could come back in the morning and talk to a Manager. The next morning we went to the front desk and told them we needed 2 separate beds (which is how I booked it with Sunwing) . The manager said we could switch at 3:00pm , all of a sudden they found 2 rooms with separate beds and balconies available. Finally at 3:00 we got into our proper rooms and there was no sign of it just being cleaned let me tell you. The resort was DEAD. So needless to say their customer service sucks.! Throughout the week, other Canadians felt the same way, no customer service towards us. Hardly any staff working, nor did they want to work I felt. Never a Sunwing rep at the resort for the whole week to talk too. The pool is mush smaller than it appears in the photos as a side note This resort rather cater to locals and Americans. The whole strip of resorts is now a lot of locals. Definitely not a fun resort, drinks are only served starting at 11:00am and midnight is the latest you can get a drink (the only place you can get a drink late at night is rooftop patio) which people are not up there - super windy and chilly at night . Drinks are limited to what they will make as well and very very watered down. Buffet food was just okay, the pizza by the pool was good. Security came and yelled at us for having a mini speaker playing music (was not loud at all) ppl next to us couldn’t hear it Also another couple got in trouble for eating fries from the plate while in the pool (plate was on the chair) They had 6 chairs for the beach. And refused to let us bring any more on. One day we saw a family that was more local bring chairs on the beach. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone, and I’ve been to PV a lot, thought I would give pelicanos a try, super disappointed Managers are awful and security pretends they don’t speak English

THIEVES!!!!

Just came back to Puerto Vallarta, when to this place looking for the manager Efrain to give me my money back from our last stay. Walked around the premises, still very dirty and with lack of maintenance. I did not get my money back, Thieves!!!

Special Place in Puerto Vallarta - a hidden gem

We had the pleasure of returning to Plaza Pelicanos Grand for 3 weeks. It was like coming home to visit! We were so happy to see our worker friends still there and happy as always. We love and highly recommend this place to anyone coming to visit Puerto Vallarta. The food is excellent, the service is extraordinary, and the rooms and location are perfect. Efrain Mendez manages the resort and does a great job at helping with accommodations. From the time you meet the bell boy, the front desk people, the servers (Francisco and Sergio) you will feel welcome and at home. It is our go to place everytime! We took the opportunity to have dinner with Buddy at the SkyBar. It was not for any special occasion but he made it very special. Take the opportunity to visit with him and treat your significant people to this opportunity. You will not regret it! I wish i could keep this place our secret as it does get crowded but there is no lack of service during these days. Please if looking for a great value of an all inclusive in Puerto Vallarta pick here! We will return soon, Mary and Dale Lyman
