The place was very clean. Excellent staff. Our concierge Christoher was Excellent. He was interactive with us everyday...to take care of any needs or wants... He found us...we never had to find him. I stayed in a swim-up Jr. suite from 1/28 through 2/3 with my wife. The room given to us had two queens however we reserved a king. They did not make any effort to move or accommodate us in any way. We spoke to three other couples with the same issue so they must overbook regularly. The room fridge was broken as well as the hairdryer. The staff replaced both but it took 2-3 days and the replacement refrigerator was just placed on the floor next to the pool access sliding door with the same items inside. We also found that the TV didn't work as well. (Obviously not a big deal but comical given everything else that was occurring.) Due to our late arrival the first night we had to eat at the main buffet which was a disappointment. Most everything had been sitting out too long under the heat lamps which made most items un-eatable. Two of our reservation dinners, Hibachi and Mexican were pretty bad, a combination of overcooked chicken and shrimp and a waiter who was more interested in getting a tip from a 12 person table. The Italian and Dominican (Flora) restaurants were good. Sadly, we experienced the majority of staff as being indifferent at best to us being there. Seriously, it was so different than Mexico or Aruba. It's as if they just didn't care. This is my first and last trip to this property or any other that's managed by their parent company, Melia. I've been to 12-15 all inclusive properties in the past and this one is by far the worse experience I've had. I take no joy in writing this as I spent a few $K on a mediocore trip at best.

The Italian restaurant here was phenomenal. Great service from both of the servers. My girlfriend and I arrived later in the evening due to the flights, however we’re greeted by the very nice hostess who promptly helped us find a table. This restaurant is by reservation mostly, so they definitely helped us get in a late meal.
