Amazing vacation at Serenade Punta Cana

The resort is located in 25 minuts drive from Airoport, what is doing it very convenient to travel to. The rooms are very clean and have comfortable beds. I had a birthday and got free upgrate my room to two rooms suite. Food is delicious and a good choice. Staff is freandly and helpful. What is most special for this resort itg is the beach!! The sand is silky and cleaned every day of seaweeds. Water is shallow, and they build waves breaking buoys with a net that protects from sharks. We enjoyed each moment spent in the resort and highly recommend it to friends.

Pool Bar is Excellent

This review is purely on the pool bar ( if it was on the hotel it would be a 1 ) The staff at the pool bar are excellent - even when there are no beds at 9am they found us one! Big shout out to Kerolain Santa, Onyehi, Alberto, Blandino and Francisco They made the time spent at the pool fantastic- thanks you

Another Great Vacation at the Serenade!

This was our fourth visit to Serenade Punta Cana and we were very happy to see many familiar faces. We stayed in the Preferred Premium Suite oceanfront with a jacuzzi as usual. It was beautiful to wake up every morning to see the ocean and shimmering pool waiting for us. There was never a problem finding a spot to relax in every day. We were happy to find there were even improvements to the resort! The beef tenderloin at Bellum was excellent and we enjoyed our teppanyaki dinner at Kyoka was fun as usual as well as delicious. Everyone had fun! I was disappointed that the Gourmet Restaurant was out of scallops and lobster (probably because we came the day after Valentine's day) but luckily they did have the white chocolate spheres filled with strawberrry creme... my favourite! We almost never return to a resort since we like to go to new locations but there is a feeling of comfort for us knowing what to expect at the Serenade. Every year it does improve on its services. Since my husband had just had his second knee replaced, it made sense to return to a place where we knew we would be taken care of. Housekeeping always kept our room spotless with everything we could possibly need. Showers were always hot and the robes and towels were always at the ready. We do tip at all restaurants and for housekeeping as well, the same as we would do in Toronto. The difference is that we could tell it was really appreciated there. Muchas gracias to all our housekeeping staff, Joannie and Juanita at the Sports Bar who were so good to us everyday at lunch (I know you must have thought I was crazy ordering the alitos de pollo, chicken wings, so often), Santo who always seemed to appear to make sure we were taken care of and the lovely staff at the preferred pool who were always busy making sure everyone was happy. Thanks also to the watersport guys who made sure I wore the life jacket even though I didn't want to when I took out the kayak and didn't laugh when I couldn't get a grip on the paddleboard to stand to paddle and did a spectacular spill back into the water. We had an excellent time as usual! Muchas gracias!

SCAM! PLEASE READ REVIEWS!! Honest review

NOT SAFE! BAD EXPERIENCE. Families, please read. If there’s one review you shouldn’t ignore or skip past, it’s this. I’m not one to write reviews. Often when you read bad reviews - you can picture the angry upset person writing, but please know that’s not me. I had to create an account to hopefully save a family in the future. This is not a family hotel. Firstly, read past reviews and take note of the hotels response to reviews and how they will action them and improve; but more recent reviews show they do nothing. Everything I say has already been said if you read them. Be skeptical of the good 5 star brief reviews.. that’s all I’m saying Relatively expensive trip for a couple nights with family at an all inclusive resort. Upsetting to know I won’t get the $$$$ back and they will reply to this message with an ai generated response and just move on with no care or accountability. Arrived Friday. Front desk workers all seemed busy talking to eachother and helping guests. No one welcomed us. This may be little, but definitely the first red flag. After name, passports, and general info, I asked about a possible paid upgrade for an inside view (some reviews said outside rooms overlook construction). When I asked, the worker insisted I took a swim up room and he’d do a cash price if I took it. Then asked me to sign a contract about not disclosing price. Very suspect in hindsight. After I paid, the worker laughed to his friends about it behind the desk. The room I got had no locks, one toilet paper (wasn’t replaced after day 1), wet towels, no soaps. I mean, terrible (laughing writing this as it’s unbelievable). Not to mention ceiling tiles cracked, shower drain broken, sewage smell in the bathroom, and mosquitoes coming from the bathroom somewhere. Still not sure if the desk guy sold a room that was empty under construction or this is the norm? Nonetheless terrible. The Food buffet is the main eatery. Speciality restaurants book several nights in advance so for a short stay, you likely won’t get any. Buffet was upsetting. No one in charge, no manager is present to speak to: no bowls, no milk for the baby, no spoons, waiting for water, empty trays of food. Standard of food was poor. Very few waiters/waitresses speak English enough to help. Many say, “ok I’ll be back”, and don’t come back. Note: This goes for all the staff - I don’t think it’s their fault - but they don’t seem trained or personable. Some are pretty rude - but the hotel hired them so I’d blame them, not the employees. Serious lack of customer service. A few more top line comments as this review is already pretty hefty. In no particular order: 1) Hire another person for the bbq truck on the beach. Waiting 40 mins for a plastic hot dog is not great. Just one person cooking. 2) No managers present anywhere, or at least identifiable with uniform, so tough to speak to anyone. 3) Same goes for security. Didn’t see ANY present. Big issue for me. 4) Many lifts broken. We were ground floor so didn’t need any, but the lift outside was broken. I saw plenty reviews claiming this and they are correct. 5) Live music at the kids pool playing all the words you don’t want your little guys to hear. Please know I’m not a sheltered person, but come on - Cardi B at the kids pool??? 6) No security around the bars or managers present, leading to adults carried back to their room after drinking too much. No watchful eyes or control. 7) Aggressive vendors consistently selling on the beach. Paying so much - trying to enjoy the beach and getting harassed. They all stand across the beach so you’re looking around them to see the water. You need to tell them no four times before they move on. 8) Cigarettes are smoked all over so second hand smoke is everywhere, including stumps all over the beach. Once again, is this normal or just not enforced because they’re no security? 9) Constant feeling that the hotel staff are all friends and they laugh and make snarky comments to eachother about the hotel customers - as though we’re all ungrateful and shouldn’t be there.. it’s very uncomfortable. Laughing once again, this place was so so bad. A review above that you shouldn’t skip over. It’s the honest truth past the smoke in mirrors of the pretty lobby and beach. Please take the above seriously if it matters to you and your family. I’m not angry, just upset and hope to help save another family. I can’t get any money back, but hopefully I can save you. I thought we maybe just had a very very unlucky experience, but the more review sites I read, the more that this is somewhat the standard. I know it’s coming: Take a look at the upcoming hotel response to this review telling me that they’re sorry and they’ll “work on it”. Likely ai generated. Then look at all their responses and understand they do nothing of the sort. 0 accountability and just want your money.

A Punta Cana Treasure!

A really nice, clean, newish (approx. 5 years old) hotel a little far from the airport (approx. 45 minutes). There are 4 separate buildings of approx. 2 or 3 stories each with a pool on the roof of one of the buildings. Not pleasant in the room beneath the pool. Sounds like sleeping in a really noisy aquarium. The restaurants offer good and varied food choices. Italian, Japanese, Mexican, Steak, and Mediterranean, and a very good buffet. Staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful. Never stopped smiling! Clean, well maintained beach with lots of room. A very nice holiday at a reasonable price. Will definitely be back!
