We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, but what we loved the best was the entertainment team. Especially Madelin and Keila. They had fun activities at the beach, pool, and around the hotel. They went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable and welcome. These ladies made our stay extra special.

My husband & I have been visiting Caribbean all-inclusives for 20 years. This one ranks near the top. We stayed five nights in January for our 20th wedding anniversary. The place was clean, food was good, staff was nice, bed comfortable, entertainment fun. It's not very far from the airport. Our room was spacious, had lots of storage, a fridge, a coffee maker, a safe, and had a balcony over the pool. (We could also see the ocean from our balcony.) The resort has 5 or 6 pools, beautiful landscaping, an upscale gift shop, a huge buffet restaurant, a Mexican buffet restaurant (in the daytime), a food truck, a few coffee shop/bakery-item type places, and several specialty restaurants. The lobby area has bars and lots of couch-type seating. We found available beach chairs and pool chairs each day. The housekeeping/janitorial staff were constantly cleaning, painting, scrubbing, keeping the public areas pristine. Our room was cleaned daily, our bed was made, our floor mopped, and we were given fresh towels. (This has not always been the case in all hotels in the USA and overseas since Covid. Many hotels since Covid only have housekeeping enter your room if you ASK. Not so with the Serenade. The staff worked in our rooms every single day and kept it spotless.). They kept our room fridge filled with cold water bottles. The staff was very friendly, & always said, "Hola" & smiled when you passed them in the hall or on the outdoor pathways. We have no idea why some reviewers complained about the type of food there! Each evening there was a multitude of breads, vegetables, salad fixings, pastas, pizzas, your choice of fish, beef, chicken, mussels, and a huge number of different types of desserts that were scrumptious. Four flavors of ice cream, along with sugar cones, were offered at lunch time and dinner time. At breakfast the types of breads offered went on forever, there were smoothies, people making eggs to your liking, and a human crepe maker. (We have no idea what the "complainers" eat at their own homes when not on vacation, but they surely do not have an assortment of delicious foods like they have in the Serenade buffet! We are truly baffled by the complaints.) The buffet was busy at times, but believe me, ALL of the many employees were working their butts off. They are very hard workers and it showed in all areas of the hotel. We ate outdoors on the patio most of the time. I also read complaints about no dancing, but that was not true the week we were there. After dinner each night there was a live singer next to the pool (very talented singers!) and people were dancing to the live music. The dance staff even spent at least a half hour each evening giving Spanish dancing classes next to the pool and anyone who wished could go to the dance floor and learn to Salsa, etc. with the staff serving as "dance instructors". My husband and I danced and so did dozens of others each evening. After the poolside dancing sessions ended each evening, the theater shows began at 9:30. The Serenade has a huge indoor stage with tiered theater seating and the shows were excellent. The couple's match game show had us laughing so hard we nearly cried. A disco was located across from the top floor of the theater. We peeked in, but didn't dance there, so I can't report on that. They also offer an indoor spa area, and an outdoor spa area on the beach, but I can't report on those, either, because that's not what we do on vacation. Our children are all grown, but the kids' areas looked like they would be fun, and my husband did try out the large water slides. There were complaints on-line regarding seaweed, but that is not the fault of the hotel. Seaweed was raked, but more floats in. That is Mother Nature at work, and not a reason to complain about the hotel itself. We walked several miles each direction on the beach during our stay. It was a bit breezy while we were there but it was 80 degrees every day. We were not interested in any type of VP upgrade and simply said, "No thanks." We would definitely recommend this resort to others.
