Had a great stay at the caribe! Staff and facilities were great. Fun atmosphere and beautiful grounds. Lobby bar was nice and relaxing. Enjoyed the food at the restaurant s and buffet.
Worst resort food ive ever had
Mexico2026 (Cape Coral, Florida) on Apr 15, 2026
The resort itself was pretty, the specialty restaurants were pretty decent. La Fuente & Tokyo were great. The italian spot i was quite disappointed. They also advertise that they have multiple spots to eat during the day like the buffet, strikers, & captain morgans etc, they all have the exact same food & its horrible. The buffet breakfast lunch & dinner was god awful. Freezing food, so dry you cant even cut it, no seasoning, no flavor. There was the same buffet every day all day. The service was good, pool bar kinda sucked i would sit there at the bar waiting 20+ mins at a time for one drink & it wasnt because they were busy. They would just ignore you unless your flashing them a tip every single time. Which I totally get to some extent but it was quite literally everytime the whole week. We could end up leaving the pool to grab a drink and come back. The staff were all very nice & friendly. Good activities here such as the huge mexican market, mall, haunted house, escape room, parasailing, jet skis, fishing, snorekling, water classes, mini golf, a whole arcade & more. So that was a plus. Rooms were clean & taken care of! The nightly shows were okay, they did karaoke though 3x in a week, i was hoping for more variety. Not that many lounge chairs at the beach. Big chunk of the beach was very very rocky, you had to go quite far depending on which hotel your in to be able to swim in the ocean.
Still incredible after five years!

This was our fifth straight year visiting in February, and it is always amazing. I am already looking forward to next year. Of course, the pools, restaurants, activities and general atmosphere are amazing, refreshing, and fun; but what we are truly looking forward to next year is seeing our friends on the staff. That is what sets this trip apart from some of our other vacations where we don't know anyone. First of all- Samantha and her team at the Barcy Club-Karen, Maria and Alejandra. Our girls, ages 12 and 11, have practically grown up here, and while they have somewhat aged out of the activities, they still like to hang out because they are so loved by Samantha and the other ladies. This is such a nice benefit to have at the resort (adult time by the pool, everyone...) and the fact that the women working in there are there year after year makes it even more fun for the kids. Probably the second favorite part of our trip is when we all walk in the Barcy Club on our first full day to say hi. (My favorite moment is when we walk past the fountains in the lobby, on our way to the room after checking in at the Premium Club. Speaking of the Premium lounge check-in..Mr. Alberto and Mr. Carlos and their team of Maria, Michelle, Jaqueline, Yasareth and Estefania always always always take great care of us on check in, and during our stay. The quiet lounge and food and drink are always welcome in the lounge after the intl flight and airport transfer, but what I appreciate, enjoy, and darn near come to tears over, is being greeted so warmly by name when we get there (and by the bellhops as well-Gabriel, Johann, Clementino and Eucano.) You all know the rest of the deal, if you have read the other reviews and my other reviews. This resort is huge, there is a ton to do here, the beaches are ok, (this year is worse, but they are trying) the pools are excellent, the restaurants are pretty good, the grounds are absolutely immaculate, the rooms occasionally have an issue but they get resolved if you ask. Go for the swim up room (wait, don't...I need to be able to book one for next year because we cannot wait to go back!) My only real gripe over the years was inconsistency with the towels, but they seem to have standardized it. And the towel room seems to be open later now, which is great if you need towel cards back to check out and you are at the pool late on your last night. Sounds like there is a real issue down there with pool chairs, but we didn't see it in February (yes people save chairs when they are not supposed to, and no the resort doesn't enforce it, I think there are just that many fewer people there then.) Probably the number one thing I have seen people have issues with is when they book with 3rd party websites or agencies. I guess if you are getting a good deal or a package or something, go for it, but I would recommend booking on Barcelo.com. I am lucky that I live in Florida and its beach season here now, but I cannot wait for February. Every year here gets better, and we still have things that we haven't done yet. We finally left the resort this year on some tours, booked with Ali in the Colonial Lobby, and it was all legit, above board, worth it, safe and fun. Tulum, the cenote, and snorkeling at Yal Ku. Highly recommend. That is it. It's awesome here. Go visit it. And tip the staff! It means so much to them.
Beautiful Complex

Exceptionally green and lush landscaping. Liked that we could use all 4 resorts. Food was good. Rooms were well appointed, staff very friendly and helpful. Complex had something for everyone of every age group, from sports to quiet places to sit and enjoy a drink. Dislikes: the bed was firm and gave me low back pain each morning. Bathrooms did not have stand alone shower. Tub can be difficult and actually dangerous for seniors to enter and exit. Beach was EXTREMELY rocky for about first 20 feet. The beach at Tropical, however, was lovely. No rocks and soft white sand and clear turquoise water. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel complex and would go back if it were closer to airport .
Great stay, second time

We've stayed here twice now and would happily return — that says it all really. It has everything a family could need: beautiful location, a great beach, lovely pools, and well-kept grounds throughout. The team work hard and most do so with a genuine smile. My only note is that a little more personality and local character would elevate it from a great hotel to a truly memorable one. Everything runs smoothly, but it can feel a touch anonymous at times — those small human moments make such a difference. The one area I'd flag for improvement is check-in. We waited at the desk before being greeted, and when questions arose about the environment tax, the response felt a little defensive rather than simply explanatory. A warm, brief explanation goes a long way — especially for returning guests. Small things, genuinely. The foundations are excellent and we'll be back.
