Small resort good for short stay and pool experience preferred

Krista I on Apr 18, 2026

Just arrived back from 7 days at this resort to celebrate a family member 50th birthday. I was travelling with toddler and teen. Recommend flying into Tullam Airport brand new very small and easy to navigate and has a play area in the airport departure area for littles which is amazing to pass the time waiting to board. Pros - Small resort so can find others easily, one main building. - 24 hour cafe in main lobby area for snacks with ice cream, hot chocolate, Soda, pretzels, sweet treats, salads, fruit cups, and fresh popcorn. Kids loved this. - In a gated community so can freely explore the little shops and authentic taco spots or rent a golf cart to see more. - quick walk to the shops, marina and right next to dolphin discovery so can walk and see the dolphins being trained and play fetch with them when they have balls in the water. Highlight for my kids also. - clean rooms and not the damp smell you often find in many resort rooms. - Kids Exploxer Club at no extra cost. Age 3 -12. Drop off is 9 am pick up is 5 pm. My little was too small but it looked like there was lots of activity. Preferred Club - we upgraded to preferred status which gave access to preferred club dinning at breakfast was quieter and offered bacon, eggs, toast and fruit a plenty. - gave 1 hour free at spa for hydrotherapy for 2 guests. - had separate pool and hot tub. I personally didn’t see the value unless you are not wanting to be around the action of the main pool during daytime events. - I didn’t experience personal service for food or drinks. - Highly recommend Gohan Japense restaurant and Portafino for beef fillet and lasagna. The Beach grill had good hamburger but no fries. - room service food quality was great. Cons - entertainment was lacking two nights of our stay there was no entertainment scheduled which makes the evening boring when there is only the lobby to sit in with and a couple tables. - housekeeping staff did not replenish our coffee or seem to go above and beyond even with extra tips left for them. - gift shop prices were outrageous. $12 USD for a snack size chocolate bar. - Buffet staff was inattentive and food just mediocre no bacon out unless you asked the person making eggs and then only two strips or crumbs given. - Kid buffet section was cute but the food options were inconsistent so for my picky eaters who loved the sausage it was only available twice in 7 days. - no fries ever on the buffet. Beach was very small and pebbly so you definitely need water shoes to venture in the water. It was shallow and calm because of the lagoon wall but we only spent a few hours there in a week not enough space to not be right on top of someone if it is busy. Water not clear reminded me more of our lakes. Overall this resort was clean with modern rooms but not a spot I would return again Not enough activity or variety in food for a week stay. 3-4 days would be sufficient.

The good and the bad

966nancyp (Montreal, Canada) on Apr 16, 2026

I must start off by saying that if you booked this place already, you will not be disappointed that much as there is still a lot of good points to it. We were a family of 4 generations on this vacation and didn't take the privilege club. However we spoke to a lot of people who had the club and there really wasn't a general consensus that it was worth it. Bad Snack bar has no fries or bar service, not super bad thing but sometimes you just want those fries and burger No burgers, pasta station at buffet or even grilled meats. The buffet for both breakfast and lunches were disappointment. No full bars and no space to sit at lobby. This is the only gathering place at the hotel and there just isn't a full bar or space when waiting for our a la carte restaurants. Terrible that only bar after 10:30pm is at club and it is very loud and no kids allowed. Other than the mixology stand (amazing btw) once that closed you had to get drinks at the club which was extremely loud and only 1 staff bar man at most times. Drink selection is not 5 star. No top brands unless you are the privilege club. There is no quite pool, again unless you are in the privilege side. I had my small grand daughters who would want to nap and there just wasn't a quite area. Lots of games and activities all the time. Would have been nice to have quiet pool for everyone to enjoy. Even though we saw a lot of people cleaning the pool it seemed to always be very dirty. Chairs are another problem around the pool. Someone of our group had to go out early to reserve chairs, just not enough pool chairs or space. Lots at the beach however. Seeing as they only have 1 pool for everyone (not club) and it isn't that big of a pool, the chairs were an issue. Also if you if you leave your things for 2 hours or more, staff take a picture and remove your towels and items if you don't come back to them within that time frame. Didn't happen to us but we saw it happen. Good Towel service for pool and beach is great. Lots of towels and no need for a card. You can get as many as you like. Food everywhere at all the a la carte was amazing. We did them all and not complaints anywhere. The waiting times were not that bad. Like I mentioned in the bad side, if they had a good bar and lobby area, waiting around with a drink would not be that bad. Mixology bar was fun and gave us some excellent drink options. But if you wanted a beer or something standard, you couldn't get it at the lobby. Andretti at the buffet did make it enjoyable and pleasant with his great service! Beach is small but clean and safe for small children. The wall did protect it from a lot of the sargasse and workers constantly cleaned what little there was. Basically if you got a good deal on this place and already booked go for it. Otherwise I would go somewhere else.

Basic vacation

Moral a little off front desk manager doesn’t have the best attitude. Beds need to be upgraded and food was a bit cheap. Location is great
