Awesome Tequila tasting class

jmarrero (jmarrero) on Jul 05, 2022

Tequila Tasting was awesome. I didn't realize how good Tequila is if you drink it properly. Edward the sommelier is very passionate about Tequila and his enthusiasm shows as he teaches the class. Highly recommend when you are here. The class is very educational.

Disappointing beach, not so great

Ryba15 on Jul 05, 2022

I was so DISAPPOINTED and FRUSTRATED with the beach. The pictures online are soo different from reality. This is false advertisement! There is a Huge Wall of Rocks on the ocean that blocks ALL THE WATER from coming in. There is no water movement or flow at all. It kinda stinks and the water is so moldy and nasty. That wa ruined the whole experience. My family loves ocean and we always spend so much time on the beach. But unfortunately not this time.. there were no people in the water at all. Everyone swim in the pool because "ocean" water is really BAD. We had to go to the besch from other hotels to actually enjoy the beach.. the supposed Ocean Pool was just disgusting, nobody was taking care of it..I'm to the point where I would like a refund for posting false pictures and photoshopped pictures on the websites that made us believe the beach was great.. When it comes to service it was great, they were super nice. The entertainment was ok/fair. The food was ok. But the buffet have the same food all the time, so don't expect anything new in there.

Beautiful family hotel with a boutique feel

Waterhouse01 on Jul 05, 2022

We have just got back to the UK from an amazing family holiday here. The staff and their constant energy they bring is next level. The hotel has a boutique feel, yet it was also perfect for us as a family with the added children’s pool, water slides and fun daily activities for us all to enjoy. We received a welcome drink on arrival which is always a nice touch and had a very nice room overlooking the dolphins. Luis is so committed to giving his best every day and would always create a fun, welcoming atmosphere and high five all the children and make all guests feel very welcome and special. Our little boy warmed to him very quickly and referred to him as his friend which was very sweet. The selection of food available was brilliant, the only improvement I would add was the Mexican restaurant was a little disappointing. Given you are in Mexico I think the dishes could be a little more exciting and flavoursome, so you feel you are truly experiencing Mexican cuisine. This would be my main work on for the hotel. The buffet selections were brilliant and getting into the restaurants was easy each night, no matter what time we turned up. My only watch out for Mexico in general is that taxis are expensive so be prepared to spend here if you are planning on venturing out. The hotel are great at helping find your cheapest options and the VIP team can offer some help here on all your options also. Thank you all for making our family holiday so special. :) Laura, Tom and Theo

Welcome Home!

479renayh on Jul 04, 2022

Our vacation felt like a first-class experience from the moment we were greeted with Welcome Home! Amstar transport from the airport was seamless, all the food and restaurants were delicious and fresh and the 3 pools were lovely. All the bars served generous beverages with a smile. Our room was beautiful and clean, a little musty smelling, after I inquired about an air purifier, one was brought immediately. All the staff did an amazing job and we would especially like to thank: Josue, Aldeberto, Reuben, Marceleno, Federico, Leonardo, Lenin, Nayeli, Alexandra, Flor (maid), Javier (room refreshments), Sandra Flaquita, Jorge el Jeffe, and Antony in promotions. Pardon us if we forgot some names, we thank you double!!!

Hotel not so great, staff excellent

Journey23762945804 (Bracknell, United Kingdom) on Jul 03, 2022

Hello, I arrived at the Dreams Aventura Riviera Maya and the welcoming was great, the staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and the air conditioner was working which was great however it is so noisy and there is black mould on the walls. I have asthma and I could not breath and not sleep with the sliding doors closed because of the smell of the mould. They do not replenish the coffee in the room nor change the coffee mug. I had to ask them 3 times to do this. The resort is lovely but the website is very deceiving!! There is no beach!! My granddaughter had her birthday during our stay and we asked them to put a banner on the door and provide a special cake which we were willing to pay for and they said they would arrange it but they did not! My granddaughter was in tears... so so disappointed. The little cove with sand which is not beach sand but feels like cement mixed with stones!! Awful, just awful. The food had been terrible!! Me and my daughter in law got sick the 3rd day after arrival. We had tummy aches and runny tummy for the duration of our holiday. Thank goodness for the pharmacy on the property so we could purchase medicine. The room service staff were wonderful but the food was awful, always cold. I am so disappointed especially with the amount of money we spent. The only food that was great was the guacamole and the sushi because it was made fresh every day. The entertainment was excellent!! Roman and his staff were great!! The kids club was great, the kids enjoyed it and the staff were wonderful. They have a small water slide on the property which the kids enjoyed. The gold cubby is expensive and a waste of money. The only decent beach is a 15 walk from the hotel but they don’t tell you that when you hire a cubby. The excursions are expensive. The shops are expensive and charge you what they want when they see you are a tourist! I don’t think I will return to Mexico
