My wife and I are here for our third year in a row, and plan to come back again next year. Currently, we just started our third week here and leave next Thursday for home. We bring our adult children, their spouses and our five grandkids, also for their third year in a row. I can say they all LOVE their time here at Dreams. The staff couldn’t be more gracious and genuine. Since we were here for the third year in a row, the Activities Director, Luis (who just got promoted off this resort) brought the GM, the Directors for Food & Beverage and the Bars, as well as the New Activities Director to the beach to meet us. As an added plus, Julio, the Assistant Director of Activities, and a special person who has been here for all three years of our stays, cannot be forgotten. He is the BEST! I fear he will be the next one promoted out, and I’m sure that will happen. Everyone here is top notch! Talk about feeling special! Last year we were introduced to the Resort GM, and Jorge came to say hello to us again this year. Every time he sees us now, he comes over to talk with us. This resort, perhaps due to its size makes us feel special. Rosy in the World Cafè, looks after us for breakfast and lunch (if we opt for the wonderful buffet choices), Daisy was there for our grandkids when they opted for room service, and young Jorge in the Desirée Bar or Coco Cafè, or at Portofino always had a smile. . Everyone is friendly, happy and makes us feel special. The food choices are wonderful, as well. My wife was in Cançun at another resort for a week with her girlfriends in January, and found the food here at Dreams far superior. Also the activities at the Riu Americana were not as good as here at Dreams. Our hats and hearts are off to everyone here at Dreams. We are happy to recommend this resort to all looking for a special place to enjoy as a couple or with their family. A vacation is what you make it, and Dreams Aventuras provides everything you need to make that happen.
Good service, great swimming for kids, bad food

Two families traveling together with kids ranging from 6 to 14. The swimming areas are great and shallow for young kids and it has great snorkeling opportunities. The beach is hard with rocks that hurt your feet so definitely bring swim shoes. The food is highly salted, lacking in flavor, and notlarge quantities or authentic in seasoning. The service is great and the people are very friendly aside from waiting for three hours to get a rollaway bed to go to sleep at midnight. Entertainment was good for the kids which is all I can ask for.

We selected Dreams Aventuras since it was listed as a 5-star hotel with a great rating on Apple Vacation's (and others) website. The drive to the resort was very long, about an hour and 20 minutes on the way there (we hit traffic) and just over an hour on the way back (no traffic). We had a Preferred Swim Out Room with King as it was the only option for the package, which we were fine with since Preferred guests got some perks with their stay (breakfast at Oceana/bottle of wine/private pool). The room was nice, but the smell couldn't be overlooked. Everything was always 'wet' feeling, even the bedding. Overall, I think the resort was not as staffed as it could/should be, which is a reoccurring theme since COVID. We had some issues with housekeeping not restocking towels, the cleanliness of the swim out "pool", low staff at the bars, long waits for room service (we ordered twice), and service at restaurants even though the restaurants do not require reservations, with plenty of open tables available, it took us over an hour to get seated for dinner one night (there were six of us). Bring your own water, they only like to fill up glasses about halfway! As far as entertainment goes, the shows were ok enough (breakdancing/rock), and they get a B for effort. The Gaming Room only had one pool stick and the arcade game joy sticks didn't work well (I tried several machines). The resort is separated from the ocean by a man-made lagoon which was ok. We knew this going into the trip. We did paddleboarding and kayaking, but the area is quite small. These were 'free' activities but the gentleman that was manning that station made sure to tell me he works for tips.
The resort was nice, the king bed was extremely comfortable, and the double sink vanity in the bathroom was a plus. Food was tasty and we got our fill. We rented a cabana right by the natural saltwater 'pool' and that was probably my favorite part of the trip.
We won't stay here in the future, not because we had a terrible experience, but because it just didn't wow us for the price tag. For us it did not have that 5-star feeling and left some things to be desired.

The hotel was beautiful and well looked after. Staff made the stay as they were friendly and kind. The rooms were well kept and cleaned. The preferred club was worth it and the pools were all good. Nice entertainment

Beautiful property with a very relaxing atmosphere. The breakfasts and lunches at the Oceana restaurant were fantastic, as were the drinks. Have a good time! Without a doubt, Guillermo was the best of the concierge team, he recommended so many things to do in the Riviera Maya and his service at preferred club was wonderful, all the staff was very friendly. For being the first time in Mexico we loved it.
