We had a wonderful 5 night stay at Wyndham Alltra. Check in and check out was an absolute breeze. Every staff member was incredibly courteous and welcoming, especially Gisela who welcomed us at breakfast every day, and assisted with our dinner reservation. The food was excellent; the buffet varied slightly every day, which kept breakfast and lunch interesting (we also went for a late second dinner one night). We had no problem getting dinner reservations; our only issue was deciding which restaurants to return to. We loved the Orchad Salad and cochinitas at Zarape, and the cream of cauliflower soup and octopus at Brassas. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring downtown Playa del Carmen. (Be sure to go to La Cochi Loca, just off of 5th Avenue at 10th Street (Calle)!) The minor downsides: the halls are very open so sound echoes quite a bit, and the "quiet" pool was adjacent to Off the Hook which played upbeat club music. If Off the Hook played more relaxing, instrumental/spa music, the quiet pool would be much better. Other than that, the only hope of a quiet, relaxing spot by the water is the North Beach.

The Staff at this Wyndham are incredible – very helpful and responsive to fixing problems. We did have a problem with check in. I had saved reserved two master suites with 1050 ft.² of room with a separate seating area in each, however they had us reserved for Junior suites. I didn’t feel like we resolve this properly. I recommendation is to make sure that you’re receipt indicates the type of sweet. There were two aspects of the marketing that were in accurately reflected when we reached there. The Seaside Cabanas are far away from the main pool. Also there appeared to have been significant storm damage on The beach, which reduced the beach depth significantly. The food was tasty and abundant. The Sushi restaurant was the best! The option of a quiet pool was nice. But, the best part of this trip was this the spa, which was affordable and so we purchased two couples unlimited water therapy tickets. Stevie and Alexis very helpful and informative. Gabbi gave the best back rub. We will probably come back in a few years.

Resort Staff incredibly friendly and Events /Shows very impressive at the Wyndham Adults only resort. Only negative was delayed daily room reset / clean and restock and assumed just due to overall resort activity. Potential to invest in revitalizing the beach front area at resort instead of local fishing boats would be a bonus for sure.

Ok, I am presently here, what can I say, breathless, staff, front desk . Really feel at home, pool party with the foam machine was great, ( i don't usually attend, but this place made me feel it ) food is incredible from snacks to complete suppers, even the buffet was worth it. I have traveled many places in Playa del carmen and I put Wyndham Altra on my number 1 list, and will recommend this hotel to anyone, so please don't worry about the negative comments from others, just come and try this place, you will not regret it, my wife is already booking for March return, booking directly with hotel makes better sense in price, i booked with a airline vacation, but now booking directly with hotel...

This was our fourth stay at this amazing resort. Love the entire staff, room, location, and the food and beverages. Our day bartenders, Aurelia and Josue, were the best! They provided outstanding service and were always upbeat. Juan, who helped with our luggage, was extremely helpful and kind. Our favorite restaurant was Bella, and the breakfast buffet was also very good. Our ocean view suite was very comfortable and clean, with an amazing view. We look forward to our next stay!
