Was the best vacation ever. The staff was amazing. The spa was amazing. Will definitely be going back

The location is great. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants. The staff is friendly and very hard workers. Especially, Christian, Jorge, Francisco, Juan, Jose, Omar, Orlando, Monica, Ximena, Jesus, and the rest. I can't remember all of their names. We had an ocean view room with a balcony, however, we couldn't enjoy it due to the pigeons and pigeon poop all over the balcony. It was quite disgusting. The beach is beautiful, but there was so much seaweed and the smell was terrible, we couldn't enjoy the beach either. We went to the public beach at the center of town which was so much cleaner and less odor. The Wyndham owners need to update the hotel from structure and to add more food buffet choices and drink choices. Its not a real all inclusive, because there is an additional cost for more high end food and liquor. They need to keep the food and bars open much later too. They ended too early. It was a turn off. We had a nice time, considering some disappointing things. We do love playa de Carmen, just more than the Wyndham.

AMAZING HOTEL!!! Orlando Lopez at the pool is the best guy ever!!! You need to pay him more money cos he made our experience ???????? Great food, great alcohol, GREATER SERVICE!!! I will 100% be coming back to see more of mexico and the people again!!!

Overall, I give this a 6 out of 10 just due to the pool being closed early and the bars only opening at 11 AM. Also, what was disappointing is that the beach was not accessible because it was very rocky and it smelled of seaweed but we can’t really control that. Overall the staff was amazing and the property could use a little bit of updates. It was also cool that we were just steps away from fifth Avenue where all the great restaurants and bars and shopping were.

The resort is as advertised for the most part, and you are getting what you payed for (for the most part) but feels overall underwhelming. My biggest takeaways from the resort is that the food quality was pretty lackluster, and I thought was going to be way better. The food is easily promoted as its biggest strength with top notch quality compared to all the other resorts, but I felt as if it was mediocre at times with the overall restaurant quality being alright. The pizza bar wasn’t that good, and me and my friends were highly underwhelmed with the brasas steakhouse, which we were most looking forward to. And the room service food is not the best. Besides that’s the food is sufficient enough and the ventanas buffet is almost always open with great variety and options. Another key takeaway from the resort that I had is the staff friendliness and service. At times some of the staff didn’t seem that happy or enthusiastic, and almost kind of hard to communicate with due to their lack of English or unfriendliness. Often times the service wasn’t the best either, and we ended up having to wait for long periods of times when making requests. I get that the resort is busy and the staff have to work really hard to keep things flowing, but the service for almost everything always took forever whether that’d been waiting for sushi at the sushi bar or waiting for a fridge refill stock in our rooms. The service was definitely a hassle for sure. Besides that, everything was pretty adequate, but just not as premium as my initial standards had expected it to be.
