We wanted a nice quiet vacation before the school year started up and we got back to our busy lives. So we picked Mahekal. So glad we did. A nice quiet spot with multiple beach access points, beach/pool service and wonderful service. - we also are a family of 4 (2teens) and all eat vegan. Which is always a concern. But all the chefs were so eager to create and accommodate for us, we never had to worry and always enjoyed our meals. I can’t say enough about how wonderful the staff was to work with! Cute rooms, chill environment, great food. Perfect!

The resort itself is situated in the middle of Playa Del Carmen, right on the beach front. It has beautiful pools, and the restaurant, bar and entertainment staff were amazing. A few issues have really knocked it down in rating though. When we arrived, late on a Saturday night, we were told that we were to pay £1500 in taxes and fees upon arrival, we had done our research and expected a couple hundred pounds in fees. This was for 3 adults, 2 children across 2 rooms for 10 nights. This felt at the time totally excessive, but what else can you do but pay it when you have been travelling for a day. We felt this was very sneaky, and we're still unsure if it was correct. We paid it, but in all our research since we got back, we can't seem to resolve how excessive it was. The food was nice, but very limited options, the drinks were great, and there was little to no entertainment apart from the great Alejandro during the day time. On our checkout day, we were informed that lunch wouldn't be included, which was a bit of a kick in the teeth, considering our first day wasn't a full day. All in all, it was a nice resort, but I wouldn't be recommending it as a destination unlike some of the other places we've been in Mexico and elsewhere.

Our daughters absolutely loved the new Kids Klub at Mahekal Resort! From the moment they walked in, they were excited by all the fun activities, games, and crafts. The staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and made them feel welcome and safe throughout their time there. It gave us the chance to relax and enjoy some quiet time, knowing our girls were having an amazing experience. They couldn't stop talking about everything they did and were already asking when they could go back. The new Kids Klub is a fantastic addition to the resort and made our family vacation even more memorable. Highly recommend it for families visiting Mahekal!

We have been to this resort several times but are looooving the new MaheKids Klub! We’ve never done anything like this before but our girls loved a break from the sun and us, then we got some alone time! Valeria, Erika and Rebecca were so sweet with them, they had a blast! Did some many cool and different things with them over the several times we dropped them off.

The wife and I stayed here during her 50th birthday celebration that happened in May??, life happens. This place is truly Magical, it has cute beachy bungalows vibes with some tasty elegance throughout. There are plenty of pools for everyone and the beach is steps away. Our bungalow was across from their lunch and dinner fire grill restaurant, Fuego where they turned out some pretty tasty food, from the restaurant or you can order from the beach! They have a cafe, boutique, I think 2 restaurants, a bar and side bars at the pool that serve bevies. There are all-inclusive packages available, we opted for daily breakfast only to suit our needs. The breakfast food available was absolutely scrumptious, there was a quesadilla bar, cut meats and cheeses, pastries, pancakes, parfaits, overnight oats, the freshest fruit ever, omelette station, roasted potatoes, plantains and more!! It was here where we met Manuel. Manuel was our server for the week by our choice because he was just awesome, he was friendly, attentive, and thoughtful and just a humble person. I looked forward to his salutations everyday that we saw him. We would come back here in a heartbeat.
