Very large hotel, they accept too many reservations for the hotel's capacity. We were only able to book two of the four à la carte restaurants due to the lack of availability. Lack of chairs at the pool and on the beach. Food comparable to that of Cuba. Not impressed at all.

Overall this is a very nice place, but the restaurant reservations process needs to be more accommodating for families with small children. Apparently you need more restaurants available because we could not get reservations before 9:00 every night, which made it impossible for other nighttime entertainment. Like the movies or shows.

Barceló Maya Resort: Thank you for the amazing 23 years we have spent visiting your resort in the Riviera Maya. We have had the pleasure of watching the resort grow from just the Beach and Caribe to what it is today, and we have enjoyed each of the 20+ times we have visited. The resort is always immaculate, and the grounds are consistently spotless. Over the years, we have celebrated each of our children’s birthdays at the resort at least once, and we are truly grateful for the hospitality and attention you give to making every celebration special. On our most recent visit, we celebrated our grandson’s birthday, and once again, you exceeded our expectations in how wonderfully you treated him on his special day. One of the main reasons we continue to return — now once or even twice a year — is your incredible staff. Throughout the years, we have formed genuine friendships with many of them. I would like to personally express my appreciation, first and foremost, to Karen Yáñez. She is exceptionally sweet, kind, and truly an amazing asset to the Barceló. I would also like to thank her team — Maydalid and Noe — for their help with check-in and check-out, as well as the bellmen, Victor Salas and Alberto Luna. Additionally, the many managers, waiters, and cooks at the à la carte restaurants and buffets consistently make dining a special and enjoyable experience. If anyone is looking for a destination to visit as a couple or with family, do not hesitate to choose Barceló in the Riviera Maya. Because of our many fabulous experiences and the value we see in this resort, we truly consider it our second home.

We had great time at Barcelo Maya Palace with our friends. Nice clean hotel! Rooms were big and clean (the only issue with the rooms is dampness). We enjoyed breakfast at Mirador buffet. A very special Thank You to all the staff and a special thank you to very amazing Angelica Acosta, who treated us as family - we love you girl! Also would like to thank Jorge at the Caribbean restaurant - best server from all the specialty restaurants we ate during our stay. We defiantly would comeback!

What an experience, incredible location, Family vacation was once again memorable with lots of special moments. Beautiful grounds and attentive staff. Last night received a surprise send off from the team at the Palace Mirador buffet (including Pedro Chan, Geyser May and Arisbeth Luna).
