Not 5 ?

Firstly I can honestly say this is not a 5? hotel. We are currently here and have enjoyed staying in the El Beso Adult only part of the hotel mostly. The hotel is lovely and clean and our room is very big and the house keeping has been mostly acceptable. There are 4 pool areas which are all lovely. We have chosen to stay in the Adult section pool. Which we have enjoyed. Currently my husband has a dodgy tummy, probably food related we think! But I have been frustrated with small things for example no water in the room and ringing reception twice and still no water and not enough towels. This isn't a single occasion either. These are small things but surely it is just basic house keeping? The Buffet queues are ridiculous! Food not being replenished in the Buffet and having to ask for if they can restock areas so you can have a meal. Not a single spoon to be found in the Buffet area and again having to ask. Food is very hit and miss and tepid in temperature. I honestly think most of the buffet experience is poor. The resturants fair better but I honestly do not think they are 5? either. The staff have been friendly and especially round the pool area in El Beso. The entertainment team around El Beso are lovely and friendly. The night time entertainment is poor! So bring your playing cards. I have tried to be fair and honest with this review but I should not be frustrated whilst on holiday. My husband should not have a dodgy tummy and I should not have to ask twice for my room to be cleaned early morning after an unpleasant night spent in the bathroom.
Hit and miss Ocean Coral

First of all have to say ALL staff are polite and friendly especially El Beso team and lobby bar staff. Very hit and miss in other respects. Have requested hand towels to be delivered for 3rd day running. Didn't get them yesterday and still waiting for todays. Buffet restaurant for breakfast does not replace empty food dishes quickly enough. You can wait half an hour and still not get bacon or other things replaced. Evenings no better. Italian restaurant, French and the Rodizio are ok. Tempanyaki has problems booking and a bit disappointing tbh. All the swimming pools are really big but the middle one with swim up bar gets rammed. Rooms are a good size but lack storage. Balconies are a great size but have no drying line. Beach is nice enough. There is seaweed but that can't be helped and they work hard to clean away. Not 5 star though. Entertainment rubbish. Just having to call guest services again as still no towels!
Good resort for every social type

My buddy and I decided to go on a last minute getaway. My understanding is that this resort offers 3 levels of service: Daisy which I understand to be family area, the least expensive rooms (where I’m currently booked). This area has a children’s pool and water play area. There’s also an adjacent pool that is quieter than the main pool. The main central pool has a pool bar and is the hub of activity. Music is playing the entire day mixed with pool activities. It’s difficult to get chairs. By 7:30, chairs are “reserved” with towels. Then there’s El Beso which is Adults only area. It’s away from the main pool and has its own pool. Very quiet and tranquil and offers its own restaurant for à la carte breakfast and lunch. Then there’s privilege which offers its own section of beach, and butler service along with its own restaurant. I’ve read other reviews about the food here. In my opinion the food is exceptional. I’ve read complaints about lineups and lack of variety. I’m here at peak season and there aren’t lineups to get into the buffet area. They start you so there may be a 2 minute wait at the most. There’s a lot of variety and the quality is superb. Maybe they don’t change the selections daily but in my opinion, there’s so much variety, they don’t need to. The service at the hotel is over the top. The servers, and ground staff are very courteous. I have to say that I’m surprised at the number of people that don’t tip at the restaurants. If you can afford it leave a few dollars at each meal $20-$40 pesos. Or if you go for an ice cream at the ice cream parlour, I’m sure a small tip would be appreciated. There are three things about the resort that I feel are under par. First is the lack of longe chairs or monitoring people that “reserve” chairs but don’t show up. Secondly, a number of the patio stones around the entire complex are missing or on a slant or broken. I’ve seen people trip on the paths. Management should repair these. My last complaint has to do with the rodents around the resort. They look like raccoons but are called something else. They run around the resort and I’m quite sure people find them cute but they’re animals and can be unpredictable even though they appear tame. I personally don’t like encountering them on the paths, especially at night. Overall I’d say a very good resort. A few changes could make it an even better experience in my opinion
Back to back years here..we will be back!

Great service Great food Great drinks in privilege section The staff cannot do enough for the guests. The size of the resort allows everyone to get their space or hang at the party pool for lots of laughs …great children splash pad for that age group!
Wonderful vacations by the sea

It was a very nice experience. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and renewed. The food was delicious and the service was great. Eduardo and Emmanuel from the privilege restaurant were extra special and kind. Also, Elisabeth our concierge was very helpful and loving. She was always attentive and made us feel at home, she helped with our reservations, and all the questions we had.
