rude and unprofessional security team

christophergarden917 (San Diego, California) on Jul 13, 2024

the secruity there has a god complex and think they can treat guest any way they want to.... i had a buddy come over and visit, and when he got there i was just getting out of the shower so he waited in the huge lobby waiting for me to come down and let him up cause you have to have a key to let you up the elevator to the floor i was on, my guest wasn't even there for 5 mins before being barraded horassed and stalked by security made my guest feel really uncomfortable having this guy standing over his shoulder telling him he needs to buy somthing or leave, and continued to do so even after my guest told them hes waiting for me to come down

Great property and location

OlgaB3835 on Jul 13, 2024

Hotel is massive, but is very well run for its size. Staff was very attentive and the club lounge had a good variety of food offerings each day. Location cannot be beat! Overall, we really enjoyed out stay and will likely return again.

Wonderful stay, with none of the issues other reviewers had

chrisandsteffaneyp (Surprise, Arizona) on Jul 13, 2024

I was expecting all the worst, because I read so many bad reviews the night before heading there. None of the things in the reviews happened to us. Our room was clean, no mold in the bathroom, the A/C worked sufficiently, the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, the elevators were super fast and we never had a wait (even though we were there with hundreds of other families visiting for a national dance competition), the wifi was reliable, and the food in the market downstairs was so delicious it was actually worth $17/person. Our only issue was check in. It is always 4pm at this hotel and we were there just before that. Our room want ready for us until 5:45! We had to wait in line twice to get this accomplished, even though we responded to the automated email saying we could check in ahead of time, and even when we got the text saying the room was ready - we still couldn't check in from our phone. But there customer service was still wonderful and everyone was super friendly.

Penthouse suite

soupoftheday (San Francisco, California) on Jul 13, 2024

Great time with the family in the penthouse suite. Globalist upgrade was 250 over standard room price. Furnishings are worn and dated and the space has an overabundance of Knick knacks from Hyatt corporate decorating- those who know their suites will recognize many of them. High ceilings and view are spectacular, and the flow is good. Bathroom has separate good and her sides- very spacious with a great view! Could use some glasses, dishes and cutlery in the catering kitchen. Very curious placement of toilet next to glass shower. Staff at this hotel is very good considering its size. Management sent emails checking in to ensure a good Globalist experience; much appreciated. Lounge is average, as is buffet breakfast served in an enormous banquet hall. Dessert in the lounge is a nice touch. Overall a good experience. Would stay here again. Hotel is well known throughout San Diego.,

It was like staying at a Las Vegas hotel - huge and impersonal - but great location

Navigator11626 (Boulder, CO) on Jul 13, 2024

Great location at the marina. Clean and few homeless - compared to the Gaslamp Quarter. The Rooftop Cinema (on the hotel grounds) is really fun, and the pool area is nice.
