Larger than life 5 Star Hotel

The Manchester Grand Hyatt was larger than life, with incredible views of the seaport, access to fine dining and every service you might need all within the vicinity. Though I travelled for business, I would definitely stay here again just to share the experience with my family.

The location is great. The bar on the 40th floor was great. The pools were fun to lounge by but you better come with your own drink as pool side food & beverage service was limited. Overall, I think I would have enjoyed my stay in San Diego at a cheaper hotel just as much. I just don’t think the hotel lived up to the price point. One of the first questions I was asked was if I wanted to upgrade. When I said no thanks, I ended up in a smokey room. They happily moved me but it was a hassle. The first day I was awakened by fire alarms & chaos. A voice through speakers told me to immediately evacuate. I texted my dad & husband that I was evacuating & would keep them in the loop which caused alarm back home. I walked down 27 flights of stairs - as did families with kids & adults with orthopedic concerns. When I reached the bottom a hotel staff person was holding the door & apologizing for the false alarm. The way it was handled was incredibly disappointing. There is an Embassy Suites that has just as great a location nearby. I think I will check them out next time I am in San Diego. I just didn’t get the special vibes I was looking for at Manchester Hyatt.
Overpriced

ALL amenities overpriced. Air conditioning did not keep the room cool. Shower pressure poor. Our other wedding guest stayed at the Embassy Suites and had a MUCH better experience for half the price!
Best Hotel in Downtown San Diego-Best Grand Hyatt I Have Ever Stayed At

Amazing hotel, in an outstanding and convenient location. Beautiful views of the bay and skyline and could walk just about everywhere downtown, the waterfront, Gas Lamp, Petco stadium, and so on. Rooms were clean and modern, staff was great, fitness room was outstanding, and the rooftop bar was fantastic. I highly recommend the Manchester Grand Hyatt and will most definitely be staying here the next time I am in San Diego!
Room 573 view of entry driveway. Also on floor w meeting suites. Noisy

Room 573 Seaport Tower side is an adequate double double w a bathtub/shower combo. AC was anemic so opened the window. Fridge in room didn’t chill so they sent up a separate unit
