Top notch stay with some small caveats

All I can say is that I'm impressed with this hotel and dare I say, mini resort. An outside pool in between the two towers, a green space area for "lawn games," a huge fitness center, pickleball courts, basketball courts, a huge fitness center and a rooftop movie club (super legit btw)! I stayed in their King studio which is 700 square feet. Very impressive and comes with a microwave and nice fridge. The down side of course is always parking in prime locations such as these. It is 45 bucks for self parking and 65 for valet...wait for it... Per day! Yikes lol. There's NO getting around it folks if you don't want to inconvenience yourself by parking blocks away. Plan for the price within your budget. Also know, sometimes the parking garage elevator is slow because of the amount of people using it, so be prepared to take the stairs lol. T Check in on busy days will cause you to wait in line for 15 to 30 mins. Mind you it's a huge hotel. If you have the Hyatt app you might be able to check in that way and use your digital key, that's IF your room is available and ready. Overall a great stay but I'll always give my TripAdvisor community the pros and the cons.
Excellent Location, Rooms could use some TLC

I spent three nights at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. This was my first time to San Diego and the location was excellent. Walkable to the Seaport Village and USS Midway, while the San Diego Zoo is about a 15 minute Uber ride away. Upon departure, I was able to walk to the Santa Fe Amtrak station in about 12 minutes. The lobby was very impressive. My room had a great view of the bay, but furniture had seen better days. The couch was scuffed and mini fridge had a unpleasant smell. Pillows were flat like pancakes and terrible to sleep-on. The bathroom was in much better shape and had a spacious shower. Only the family pool was open and it was quite nice. However, I can see it being crowded when the hotel is full. I didn't use the fitness center, but it was very well-equipped. The breakfast buffet was $37 and had a surprisingly limited selection. The servers were very friendly and fresh-squeezed OJ was included. Overall, the Grand Hyatt is a standard 4* convention hotel, but it served my needs well.
