Amazing stay at Coconut Bay!!!

Go145154 on Apr 18, 2026

We just returned from a week at Coconut Bay (traveling with a 12 and 14 year old) and it was by far our favorite carribean vacation. We stayed on the Splash side. Just wanted to share some highlights and tips..... Hotel is literally 3 minutes from the airport. There is a Coconut Bay kiosk when you walk out of the airport in the front and a shuttle takes you to the hotel. On return, ask the front desk what time your shuttle is as they have your flight departure information. Very easy. Our return flight was 12:40 pm and they picked us up at 10am. Plenty of time to get through security and immigration. Airport has duty free shops, places to get snacks, waters, etc and bars and lunch spots on the second floor. Make sure you fill out the St. Lucia customs form online (no more than 3 days prior to arrival). You get a QR code they will scan when you arrive. Easy peasy. We ate at the buffet for breakfast everyday. Excellent selection, very clean, always replenished. We made reservations for dinner when we arrived - very easy to do at the reservations desk in the lobby. We are foodies and I have to say overall the food was excellent all around. We ate at Trattoria, Calabash and Silk. All very good! Lunch was either Flips Flops or the Jerk Hut by the pool. Great selection and never a long wait. Drinks were fantastic. All bartenders are very friendly and attentive. Swim up bar is a plus but they also have waitstaff taking your orders poolside. Top shelf liquor was available. Fun drink menu for the kids (literally made them whatever they wanted). Never an issue getting chairs by the pool! Even though the hotel was fully booked it never felt crowded at all. Towels available by the pool. Tons of activities everyday, amazing entertainment in the lobby at night. Bring a converter power strip (bought one on Amazon for around $15). Booked an excursion through Jack Sparrow on the beach (Lyndon's Authentic Tours). You tell him exactly what you want to do, where and when. Cash deposit then balance by cash or card after excursion is over. There is an excursion desk in the lobby but we wanted to pack it into one day which they didn't offer for what we wanted to do......Private transportation for your family(clean private vehicle), driver Jimmy was amazing - told us all about the island, had a cooler filled with beverages, brought us to our boat for some bottom fishing then snorkeling and beach time at Sugar Beach between the Pitons. We ate at the restaurant right on Sugar Beach which was outstanding.....Jimmy even made a pit stop at Hotel Chocolat - a must see! The staff goes out of their way to make sure all of your needs are met! Very friendly and accommodating! Housekeeping was very attentive. They are in the process of updating the rooms and the bathroom looked a little "tired" but overall we didn't mind. Still very clean. We were only in the room to sleep, get ready, etc. No ATM on site but the front desk will (for a small fee) process your debit card and give you cash. Coffee bar open daily from 7am to 9pm. Vendors come Tuesday and Saturdays. Fun to shop. Two spots on site to shop - one on ground floor and a duty free boutique upstairs(large selection of gifts, etc.) We did walk to Paradise Beach (to the left of the hotel and part of Coconut Bay). Quick 1-2 minute walk. Cute bar right on the beach, plenty of chairs, hammocks on the beach. We enjoyed playing beach volleyball as a family. Surf is definitely more rough as it is the Atlantic and not the Carribean Ocean. They do an excellent job of clearing the seaweed all day long. Kids loved the water slides (there are two) and the lazy river. (As did we!). Hot tub located by the smaller pool which was never crowded. You can check out beachballs, footballs, volleyballs etc by the pool. Overall an excellent, relaxing and fun vacation. Would highly highly recommend!

First class kitesurfing shack!

Fran G (Toronto, Canada) on Apr 17, 2026

Went there in March, for the second time. Water slides are great for your kids. A sincere shoutout to Linus, Stan, Andre, and Jeremy from the kitesurf shack. We booked a lesson for our daughter and for us learning wingfoiling. This team makes the impossible look easy. We went there every single day of our stay, we can safely leave your gear right on the spot. This team’s performance has been nothing short of exceptional, they are absolutely crushing it! Kudos to you guys!

Private Tour with Nervs and Danny

Jacquie G on Apr 17, 2026

We absolutely love this resort. We booked 2 excursions and the private tour of the island was amazing. We had Danny boy from Nervs rental. Danny was the best ever. He was attentive to our wishes. Funny accommodating and very informative. I strongly recommend hiring Danny to be your guide. Thank you Danny.

Family vaca

Alicia K on Apr 14, 2026

We had a wonderful time. They are in the process of updating the rooms and we had an updated one. The food was spectacular at every restaurant but we wish that flip flops served their food throughout the evening instead of closing for dinner. Not everyone liked the cuisine at the dining hall when they had themed nights. You have to plan to spend a good 30 minutes planning your excursions especially if you have a group to organize. Doing that ahead of time would be helpful but the resort doesn't let you do it. The entertainment was wonderful and Keisun was the best!!

HARMONY adults-only retreat, but!

670IanE (Stratford-upon-Avon, United Kingdom) on Apr 14, 2026

It was 54 years ago that I was a member of the team that opened this hotel as Halcyon Days, a subsidiary of the British company Court Line that folded in the late 1970's Although we have returned to St Lucia many times we have never stayed at the hotel since we left in 1973, so this was a trip of pure nostalgia. It is interesting to see how the hotel has developed particularly as Coconut Bay and it has unquestionably fulfilled much of its potential although clearly with the focus being on the American and Canadian market. The plus points, the room was good value for money with an excellent shower bathroom, comfortable bed and adequate seating. The small balcony proved more than adequate for our needs. Food generally very good supported with careful and attentive service although at times a little rushed and it was necessary at times to ask staff to slow down, but maybe that is us. Bar service was good although as it was all inclusive lacked a certain element of "grace" dispensing drinks to demanding and entitled guest who offered little on no thanks for the drink or service they had received. We stayed in the Harmony wing exclusively for couples and no children. The gardens, two pools and bar provided that escape, however you simply could not get away from children in any of the restaurants, even the "fine dining" restaurants such were dominated by children. It would have been a bonus to have the benefits of Harmony carried through into parts of the larger restaurants or provided as an exclusive adults only area. Reception could have been a little more welcoming, efficient but could have offered so much more. We had a problem with the lighting in our room one evening. I am afraid to say the help we received from the front desk and the Manager at the desk fell well short of expectations, a lot more empathy could and should have been shown. We are pleased we visited Coconut Bay and walking round the hotel and its grounds brought back many a happy memory for us. Four days was enough and we journeyed off to Castries for another 10 days at our favourite St Lucian hotel.
