We love Coconut Bay!

We absolutely love St Lucia and Coconut Bay! So much so that we are about to go on our 4th trip there in the last 12 months- our second to Coconut Bay. We got married there in October 2021 accompanied by a group of 30 of our family and friends. The resort really did cater for everyone! The kids loved the water slides and activities in kids club whilst the adults enjoyed working their way through the cocktail menu in the afternoons! The spa was fantastic for a girly afternoon pre wedding! The wedding itself surpassed every expectation we had. The team from kids club absolutely smashed it in terms of childcare for the afternoon and evening. Onita and her team were so welcoming and accommodating and we really did have the most amazing day! So it was no surprise that our three children wanted to return for their summer holiday this year!! My slight frustration is that I have been trying to reach out to the team at Coconut Bay to arrange a surprise for my husband and I have had no response from numerous emails. We have also been told that the 2 free nights that came as part of our Platinum wedding package cannot be honoured as we are returning ‘too early’ ie not in the month of our wedding. Little gripes but frustrating nonetheless given the amount we spent in total last October. I’m hoping once we arrive on the island in a couple of weeks we can iron out these issues but an answer to my emails would have been appreciated. All in all a fantastic family resort with fabulous wedding and spa facilities. We cannot wait to get back!!!
Kitchy but Fun

Service: The service is great and the people who work there are very friendly. My family's bags were delayed on American Airlines for a full day. Tari, who greeted us at the airport ensured he would look out for them and got them to our room hours before they would typically arrive because he fetched them mid-shift. Solange who serves in the restaurants is very friendly and accommodating. Many others would recognize us and say hello throughout the day. Beach and Pools: This resort does not have a swimmable beach. Because it is on the Atlantic side, it is very windy, choppy, and lots of seaweed during our stay. The wind within the resort and at the pools was a nice breeze and nowhere near the speed on the beach. The pools are nice, we preferred the Harmony side pools (adults only). The lazy river is fun and so are the water slides. Rooms/Resort: The resort is kitchy, which my family and I enjoyed. The rooms are average, mini-fridge is stocked with waters, sodas, and Piton (local lager beer). We stayed on the kids side of the rooms. There is a small window in the bathroom that faces the hallway. Unfortunately, there was a very large group of rambunctious teenage girls near our room so there were many disturbances from that party. Food: The market buffet is 50/50. Lots to choose from, but a few winners in my book. Decent for breakfast and lunch. But for dinner, reserve a table at one of the restaurants for every night of your stay as soon as you get there. The food is 120% better than what is served at the buffet. I had a great beef tenderloin at Calabash and delicious tikka masala at Silk. Drink: They have everything. I started with sweet drinks (pina coladas etc) and burned out on the sugar pretty quickly. Order the top-shelf alcohol. I had a great Kettle dirty martini at dinner. The (white) wine is awful, so sparkling wine ("champagne") was what I had the majority of the trip. Adventure: Our last day we had a catamaran scheduled that unfortunately was canceled due to heavy rain. We wanted to see the island and visit a town. I talked to Michi who schedules the activities in the lobby and he arranged a taxi to take us into Soufriere (about an hour away). This turned out to be a private tour and was the best thing we did all week. We toured the drive-in volcano to have a short walking tour and an ash bath. We then had lunch at a local spot that overlooks the town and Pitons (magnificent view). Next, we went to the botanical gardens and had a tour (tour given by a local). Last we would have gone to a waterfall but it was closed due to the heavy rains. Desmond was our driver and was so helpful! He watched over our things at the pools, took lots of pictures on my phone at the volcano, and gave us bits of history while driving. St. Lucia is known for the Pitons, so you HAVE to get off the resort and do some exploring. Entertainment: There is always something happening after dinner. The two highlights were Carnival and reggae night. On Carnival night, the buffet and tables were poolside for music during dinner. There were fire dancers, music, and dancing which my sister and I had a blast at. The reggae night was very fun. There were professional dancers showing the crowd some moves and lots of people got into it. Overall, this is not necessarily an "Instagram worthy" resort. But if you want to spend time with your family and have an adventure, it's a good stay.
