Do not stay here

I recently stayed at the AC Hotel, and I was very disappointed with the experience. The refrigerator in our room only worked if we had fewer than four drinks in it, as we were informed by the hotel staff. As a breastfeeding mom and with refrigerated medicine, this was a major inconvenience. We had to buy a cooler and refill the ice frequently to ensure our prescriptions stayed cold. If you have similar needs, I would not recommend staying here. The hotel needs to address this issue to better accommodate guests with medical or special requirements.

Horrible hotel

Horrible. We stayed in a king sized room. Room had no robes, water, or iron. Floors made ur feet black. Worst part, shower water barely came out and complained twice. Never fixed. They gave me points worth half of a nite stay. Doesn’t do anything. Other than that, they said oh well. Corporate also didn’t care. No other room given. Worst Marriott ever stayed at. Also, rooftop bar closed with no signs or anything. Rude staff

Nice newer hotel

We enjoyed our stay at the AC, although it could have been better. The employees were great, from the front desk, bartenders, and cleaning staff. Love the rooftop pool and bar area. Just wish there wasn’t a 4’ wall blocking the review of the bay. Very disappointed the very rooftop bar is not open. Asked every morning to upgrade to a balcony room and wasn’t able to receive one. Although I heard through the grapevine there are no chairs on the bayside balconies. Valets were friendly and quick, priced high, but all the hotels in that area are. Many bars and restaurants in walking distance. Never tried the breakfast. I would stay again, but don’t expect much of a water view until the rooftop bar opens again.

Will not return!

So completely disappointed with my stay at this hotel. It started when we checked in. My daughter told the receptionist it was her 5th birthday, and the woman didn’t say anything. That didn’t upset me then, but after the rest of the issues I realised this was the beginning of the terrible service we would get. We were told the pool was closed the first day for a private function. I thought it was strange that no one informed us of this when booking. We checked in and upon exiting our floor, there was a coffee cup on the table just outside the elevators. This coffee cup was there the entire 3 night stay filled with some guests moldy coffee. Again, this should have been a clue to the hotels standards. The first night we put our toddler and newborn to bed and they woke to the housekeeper vacuuming in the hallway outside or door. She started banging on the door with the vacuum. This was at 11 at night! I called down to reception straight away and asked for this to be stopped as it was keeping the children awake it was that loud. I had never seen a housekeeper vacuum at 11 at night! The next day we went to the beach and when we returned in the afternoon our room still hadn’t been serviced. I went downstairs to say we were going out again and to please make sure our room was serviced. The lady behind reception ensured me that this would be done. I told her as well that our conditioner and body wash was completely empty. So seems the housekeepers don’t have a checklist of what needs to be done in every room because this was missed out when we checked in. I also asked multiple times to have the bedding changed. I said this was urgent as the bedding was dirty from the kids. The receptionist ensured us that that would be completely fine and would be sorted when we returned. We returned around 7 and the room STILL hadn’t been serviced. I called down and spoke to the same receptionist who promised me she had told the housekeeping team and would tell them to do it now. We went downstairs to the bar to wait while our room would be serviced. An hour later the room was done. We went back upstairs and nothing we asked had been done. The bedding wasn’t changed, the soaps weren’t refilled, the shower was a mess, no clean towels. All the housekeeping team did in one hour was make the bed and take out the trash. I called down immediately and the receptionist said she would call the housekeeper back to which I replied that I now needed to put the kids to sleep. I asked for towels and soaps to be left outside our door. The next day I went downstairs and asked the receptionist to please ensure our bedding was changed and soaps refilled. She agreed the service we had wasn’t correct and again promised the bedding would be changed and the room properly cleaned. Surprise surprise, when we returned the bedding hadn’t been changed. Soaps hadn’t been filled, shower wasn’t cleaned. Again, just the trash was taken out and bed was made. The sand from the beach was still in the floor, so they couldn’t even be bothered to vacuum. Guess they only do that at 11 at night. When I explained all the issues to the man at checked out he laughed it off and said “oh wow that’s not right”. Didn’t offer us an apology or anything. We spent a lot of money on our stay and in the bar (which we would like to say was the only positive part of our stay. Sara Beth and another blonde bartender who’s name started with a C and I’m terribly sorry I can’t remember) I had originally booked 2 nights and booked a 3rd night before the issues and I regret I had booked the last night. I wish I would have gone elsewhere. The staff were rude, clueless, and not at all to the standards of what I would have expected at a Marriot. I let my issues known throughout my stay, and still nothing. Completely disappointed!!!

Stylish a block from the beach

New(er) hotel a block in from the beach. Rooms are nicely done, though we had some issues with the A/C in our room (it “froze” and wouldn’t turn off — our room was very cold!). Management responded nicely and moved us. Like the aesthetic and good customer service.
