This was our fourth time at Alexandra Resort. We have been to over 10 Carribean islands countless times and this is our favourite because of the beach. It cannot be beat.
The beach is incomparable to anywhere else. (white soft sand, crystal clear waters even 1 km out on the hobicat you can see the bottom clearly, amazing snorkeling a short walk away from the resort - we saw turtles, squid, fish, purple and yellow corals, an eagle ray, and even a manta ray)
There are SUPs, kayaks and hobicats available at the water sports area with noodles, beach toys for kids, and floaties available all day long. Sammy from the Water Sports team is fantastic!
Breakfast is great - Joseph makes amazing omelettes (never burnt or oily), and the waitresses Janika and Cherline were lovely! Made us smile every morning. There is also a smoothie bar where John makes nice iced coffees, acai bowls and smoothies. Coffee, biscuits and ice cream are available self-serve all day long too.
Lunch: Jerk Chicken is phenomenal and you can eat it right on the beach in to go containers. Special thanks to the jerk chicken chef!
Dinner: We loved the Fish Deck restaurant and went there almost every night we could. Highly recommend the conch chowder, cocunut shrimp, snapper and grouper off the menu! Chef Fire knows what he is doing!!! And the rest of the wait staff -
- Sandra, Christina, Rene, Jeff, Merlin, and Darius - make you feel like home!
Rooms: Clean, comfortable and spacious. No complaints. Fridge is stocked with beers, soft drinks and water.
Only thing to flag, more so to the resort management itself, it was disheartening to see a lack of environmentally friendly initiatives at the resort. With the amount of single use plastics given out at the resort every day (water bottles, cutlery, packaging of cutlery, etc.) it was a shame to see a lack of recycling and all of that going into the landfill. The pool party was also disheartening given that the soap / bubbles were drifting away and going straight into the ocean. Our love for the Turks and Caicos islands lies completely in the beach and the reefs that protect it - it would be a shame for it to be damaged due to increased waste and pollution as we've seen happen to other islands in the Caribbean.
Thank you for a wonderful stay and we hope to come back soon!
Couldn’t ask for anything better!
