Nice Condo, Not a Resort, Poor Customer Service

Stayed here for a 5 night family vacation. The pool is great with the water slides, lazy river, and small waterfalls. The condo we stayed in was clean and very nice with 2 bedrooms, 3 baths and a high end kitchen. The “Mountain View” room does not have much of a view except for a view of McDonald’s and Safeway. The property has good potential if it was managed by a different resort company other than Outrigger. It is called a resort, but does not feel like a resort at all. No one to greet you at the entrance, no lifeguard at the pool, no security, an odd check-in area, and very poor customer service. Except for Tony the concierge, every other employee we interfaced with on the property was rude and had an attitude of not wanting to be there, including the front desk. It was to the point where some employees would walk by you without even acknowledging you with a smile or a simple Aloha. This was the first place we have stayed on 4 of the Hawaiian islands that has not had the typical overly-friendly Hawaiian attitude. We enjoyed Kauai, but will not stay here again.

We rented our one bedroom condo online with Kauai Exclusives paying via Rental Host. I must say my husband and I would highly recommend unit D402 - it was very clean and offered everything we needed from: a fully functional kitchen, washer/dryer, two bathrooms, amazing views, in addition to the resort amenaties such as beach towels, beach and pool areas. We loved walking the beach directly outfront of the resort and the paved beach walk close by which led to various shops and places to eat. The convience of having a safeway directly across the street was very convienient. The beach is not swimable due to rip tides but there are many close by. We will definately be back !

We were originally booked to stay at the Lae Nani, but we were pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade to the Waipouli Resort. Our room was fabulous! It was only two of us, and we had plenty of space to spread out. The room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The stovetop didn't work, but that was quickly fixed and we had no other issues. The pool is AWESOME, and is worth an afternoon of lounging. The on-site restaurant is also very nice and was a nice change from cooking. There is a Safeway right across the street, which was very convenient. We faced away from the street, so noise was not an issue. Woke up to beautiful sunsets every morning. I would definitely stay here again! I also highly recommend the on-site spa, which is not part of the resort.

A beautiful resort - great location

We booked a two bedroom 2 bathroom partial mountain view room for our family of four. The apartment was very spacious, with large bedrooms, spacious well designed bathrooms and a full size kitchen with plenty of utensils. We had requested twin beds for our daughters, and were a little disappointed this request was not met. If we had been told it was unavailable we may have booked a different room. We tried using the sofa bed, but it was very old with springs sticking out. This was really the only disappointment with our stay. The pool facilities are first class, the staff friendly and the location is great with a private beach and seaside restaurant included in the resort. The washer and dryer are very useful, along with the easy parking. Kapaa is a great choice, and the resort is across the road from a shopping centre. Highly recommend.

Home-like environment, not a hotel resort

Our stay was in a very comfortable, clean, ample condo. Great kitchen with grocery store just across the street. Wonderful pool area. Nice restaurant by the pool although it is a separate business from the resort, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Beach is adequate but there are much better beaches just a short drive away. Very good location on island as you are pretty much centered from points south and north.
