Upon check-in we used our debit card to pay for the room, this is the first and only time we used that card in DR. A couple days into the vacation we looked at our bank account to see that there had been 3 additional charges to that card from DR, and also an attempted charge of $2400 that was thankfully flagged by our bank. When we gave them our card to pay for the room the woman checking us in turned away from us and walked over to a back table. That is the only way I can imagine they got our card info. We typically use Amex when traveling but regardless, make sure you check your statements if you stay here or freeze the card after use. We reported this to the hotel. But they of course assured us that has never happened here.. I doubt that strongly. One last reason I am leaving such a low review, food and service is absolutely terrible. But as far as positives go the property is beautiful and well maintained, rooms are clean and have a safe in the room so you can lock up your belongings. The beaches are clean and easily assessable and the water is crystal blue!
Surprised of lack of service

The property is beautiful. Unfortunately, it is a low end property as far as service and food selection. When I checked in my door was open, no terry in the room. The bed was soft and the pillows were very hard. A/C Temp is set to cold, we froze the whole time. Food was disgusting, staff was not pleasant. Had to beg housekeeping to get new terry each day to no avail. The staff was rude with helping to make dinner reservations.
