The Occidental website does not do justice about the resort. It is beautiful and it's proximity to Xcaret makes you feel as though it is all one big resort. Fabulous place to go with kids. They never got bored...which is a lot to say for two 7 year old twins and a 10 year old! The food is 'just ok' but every thing else was 5 star!

Lots of pluses, but there are areas for improvement. Loved the resort itself, staff were great, food was good, rooms are clean. Loved the monkeys, deer, and the other unique We were in First Club, and have made several trips here. The bar service at the pool bar….he was fabulous, and so were the people serving inside the First Club. There use to be to be pool service daily, but we only had it sparingly one day out of the two weeks we were here. Hallways and stairs in the buildings need cleaning. But the guy that cleaned our rooms was fantastic and extremely cheerful. Rules seem to have changed….even on the web site it says to dress up for dinner…we saw guys in shorts and sandals, ladies in jeans shorts, and people walked into First club without any cover ups, and dripping wet bathing suits. I personally don’t think that should be allowed. So is it a rule or is it not? Seems to make the resort less classy. First Club bathroom needs work, but the washrooms by the pool near the outside bar were always well maintained. Overall, the service at the restaurants was good. People were friendly and kind. We had good service at the desk as well when we had our flight cancelled. Love the atmosphere and all the walkways…beautiful.

There really isn’t much to complain about with our stay we enjoyed ourselves. It’s a very spacious resort. I noticed the staff seemed to be enjoying themselves amongst one another, and they were wonderful to our family. Make sure transportation is sorted out beforehand that was a little bit of a challenge, but otherwise I would recommend this specific property to all friends and family.

First glance is very pretty, once there it all went downhill. I was there 7 days , room cleaned 2 times .I had to beg for water around resort and room . Food was subpar ! Not impressed with any of it . A little buffet was about the only decent place for breakfast. Drinks were very watered down . To much walking from place to place . Very pricey for the service you receive. Called for room cleaning, no show 5 out of 7 days . Called asked for toilet paper , showed up with a 1/4 roll which must of been left over . We had a party of 7 and paid over 20k for swim rooms for 1 week . Very disappointed! This is my last trip there or Mexico for that matter !!

Your timeshare employees were pushy, and it took away from the excitement and relaxation we were hoping for while staying at this property for our honeymoon after getting married. We had to repeatedly deny the breakfast “meetings” which felt predatory. After doing so we found out that employees had noted it in a file in your system and there was no “above and beyond” treatment after denying these meetings. I already spent more than enough money on our flights and the stay. Trying to squeeze more money out of us was insulting. I will never stay at another one of your resorts and I will ensure that anyone we know planning a trip in the future hears about our experience so they can avoid it as well.
