Nature, beauty. wildlife and a great hotel!

Just back from a week at this fantastic and beautiful resort. The setting, nature, wildlife, staff and hotel, were fabulous. It’s not shiny and glitzy, and we loved it because of that. Don’t hesitate if you are thinking about it- everything that concerned me from reviews ….were never encountered by us! Food : Reservations for al a cartes, we got all of them easily and at the times we wanted. No queue to book at customer relations. They were all good; of course and some we loved more than others, but I wouldn’t say any were sub par. The buffets were great. Fresh options. Loads of choice. Some dishes of course you’d not go for or may not appeal. If there’s not something there for you, I am perplexed! We were not approached about timeshare or ownership once. The staff at the reception of our building (20) just said hola each time we went to and from our room multiple times each day. They helped us with a key issue and luggage. We didn’t need anything else. Every member of staff at the eateries and bars were just lovely. Some really friendly some more reserved. But all helpful and professional and polite. Check in was seamless and efficient. We were able to get a late check out no problem and no charge. None of us, were Ill! We found it super clean, and none of it ‘run down’. Finally, the nature in this resort, was simply amazing. I had expected to get a glimpse here and there - it’s everywhere all the time. Deer monkeys, iguanas galore. If you can get a quiet spot away from the partygoers, you can sit, relax, and feel a million miles away from your busy lives in stunning surroundings. That’s priceless. We particularly loved the beach buffet for breakfast and lunch, for the setting, and the sky at sunrise and sunset by the coast and ruins. Had a super trip to Chitchen Itza and Ik kil (standard I know, but ticking the obvious boxes this time) and also Xcaret is really worthwhile next door. Although you’ll see more wildlife, by your rooms! Enjoy. We loved it.

Enjoyable, awesome resort location best part, but no longer including Xcaret park. Now have to make reservations for the restaurants with only four reservations included for a whole week stay.
