With the property being shutdown for a renovation last year it needs work. The Mantees bar was falling apart. Rooms were nice and the new preferred club and pool are nice but we wouldn't pay extra for it. Going to reservations for dinner is a real pain and takes away from a relaxing vacation. We were told they made ours one night and they did not. Had to be at your phone ready to book dinner when reservations opened up between 1-1:30pm daily. Huge complaint and the resort was only running at 40% to 50% occupancy. This is a nice Secrets but at the highest it's mid range but a lower range Secrets for us.

Jamie Lagoonus the gentleman that put our towels out on our chairs. He was so nice and friendly. He worked very hard to accommodate everyone’s needs.

We had an excellent stay and really enjoyed our time at the property. The resort was beautiful, clean, and very well maintained. One thing that stood out to us this time, especially compared with our previous stays, was the increased level of attention to Customer Service throughout the property. We were frequently greeted before we even had a chance to say hello, often by name, and so many Team Members went out of their way to make us feel welcome. There were quite a few people who truly went above and beyond, and we wanted to take the time to recognize them. These personal interactions really made a difference and made us feel like valued returning guests. FITNESS CENTER Overall, we really like the Fitness Center and think it is a very nice setup. Personal Trainer – Victor was very personable and helpful, and we enjoyed interacting with him. BELLHOP – Omar was always so friendly and personable. We honestly don't think we ever saw him without a smile! What really stood out was that he would greet us even when he wasn't actually helping us with anything. Those little gestures really make a difference. Pedro – Very personable and helpful. We always enjoyed seeing him. PREFERRED CLUB RECEPTION DESK - The entire Preferred Club Reception Team was wonderful. They worked so well together and were always smiling and greeting us whenever they saw us. We really felt welcomed every time we walked in. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! A few special mentions: Allison Avilia – Allison promptly arranged for a facility repair when we brought a safety issue to her attention. We appreciated how quickly she took care of it. Roosevelt Ramirez – Roosevelt was always looking for ways to help and greeted us by name every time we came in. That personal recognition really made us feel welcome. Vanesa Mis – Vanesa was so friendly and made our check-in effortless. She also quickly took care of a broken shower diverter for us. Karla Perez – Karla deserves special recognition for the way she handled a billing issue we encountered at check-out. She was patient, empathetic, and professional, and she handled the situation with a smile. We really appreciated her approach. BARTENDER Karen – Preferred Lounge – Both were friendly and personable and really went out of their way to accommodate Kim's drink requests. We appreciated their willingness to help and their friendly attitudes. PREFERRED POOL CONCIERGE The entire Preferred Pool Concierge Team was fantastic. They worked so well together and were always smiling and greeting us whenever they saw us. We definitely felt valued as guests. Special recognition: Jaime Lagunas – Jaime was always friendly and attentive. He remembered us from previous stays and actually made an effort to seek us out. That meant a lot to us and gave us a wonderful sense of being recognized as returning guests. Alvin – Alvin was friendly and consistently helpful. He took care of our needs without any fuss, including helping with Dining Reservations. Axl – Axl was friendly and helpful and frequently anticipated what we needed before we even had to ask. That kind of attentiveness really stands out. Marta – Marta remembered us from previous stays, and we really appreciated the personal connection she created. It's those little moments of recognition that make returning feel special. PREFERRED CLUB POOL WAITER Santiago – ALWAYS friendly and attentive. He consistently provided wonderful service and was a pleasure to see around the pool. COCO CAFÉ – Juana was always friendly and smiling and greeted us whenever we came in. She remembered our requests, which made our visits feel personal and welcoming. Market Café – Ruben frequently stopped by to make sure everything was okay and asked about the food. On one occasion, he proactively had an item remade after checking on us. We really appreciated how attentive he was and how genuinely interested he seemed in making sure we were happy. Ayara – Pablo was attentive, available, and willing to adjust things to accommodate our concerns and requests. We appreciated his flexibility and willingness to help. Ayara – Belen was always smiling, friendly, and pleasant. She consistently made us feel welcome. Ki' Ki' Che – Dulce was friendly and consistently remembered us and greeted us by name. We really appreciated that personal touch. Portofino – Juan Pablo was personable, friendly, and helpful. We especially enjoyed the unique oil-and-vinegar mixture he prepared for the bread with garlic, Parmesan cheese, and salt. It was such a nice and memorable touch. Ayara – Daniel was friendly, personable, entertaining, and helpful. He made the experience fun while still providing great service. He made great suggestions for drinks and food. Oceana – Gambino was friendly, very interactive, and attentive. We enjoyed his personality and appreciated how engaged he was throughout our meal. OVERALL Overall, we had a wonderful stay and left with many positive memories. What impressed us most was how many Team Members made an effort to recognize us, greet us by name, check in on us, anticipate what we might need, and simply make us feel welcome. We know that excellent service doesn't happen by accident. It comes from people who genuinely care about the guest experience, and there were so many Team Members during this stay who demonstrated exactly that. To everyone who took the time to smile, say hello, remember us, check on us, help us, or simply make our day a little nicer — thank you. And to those who went above and beyond, please know that your efforts were noticed and very much appreciated. We truly felt like valued returning guests, and that is one of the biggest reasons we look forward to coming back in December. Thank you to the entire Team for a wonderful stay!

Secrets Playa Mujeres is in a great location, with friendly and professional staff, plenty of great dining experiences, and a nice, relaxing atmosphere. The resort has many activities you can participate in, like water yoga and aerobics classes, or you can simply chill by the pool with a cool drink in your hand. The attentive staff will keep you hydrated and happy!

Nice enough property. Food wasn't so great. Preferred club not worth the money. Went to the front desk with booking issue and it was never resolved. Instead they kept insisting we listen to the sales pitch.
