Start to finish, not one complaint. The staff and accommodations were excellent, always made sure we were taken care of. Food, drinks, watersports and relaxation were on the money. Would look forward to returning again

The staff at St. James Beach Club go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. We were treated like royalty and found the resort to be so relaxing. Two cons: The food is inconsistent with very good and even excellent food in some restaurants like Tree Tops and Le Jardin, but mediocre to poor in the Palms where breakfast and lunch are served as well as dinner on nights you are not booked into one of the other restaurants. Bambou has a beautiful setting, but the chef ruined three beautiful pieces of mahi mahi by overcooking them until they were hard and dry. The thick soup had absolutely no taste. Also, music blares from the central lounge from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM and can be heard in your room quite a distance away. Disturbing if you want an early night’s sleep. The Pros: The fitness center and water aerobics were big plusses. The resort is beautifully manicured and maintained. There is always food available somewhere. There are options for any level of activity from water sports to reading in the library. But the biggest asset is the staff. So many staff members each day went out of their way to be friendly and do anything they could to help us enjoy our vacation. In particular, when our friend hurt her leg while exercising, she was treated with solicitous care for several days by the manager and other staff with meals delivered to her room, phone calls multiple times a day to check on her, etc. The staff couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. Kudos! Special shoutouts to the manager, Sharon, Bennell, Rinus, and Claudia. We have never met friendlier staff at an establishment and would return for that reason alone.

The beautiful island of Saint Lucia is host to St James Club at Morgan Bay in the north. We stayed here for 10 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary and paid an upgrade fee for a beachfront apartment. The room was large enough if not a little basic and tired in a few places. We had free champagne in the room and a table decorated in the Le Jardin restaurant. We indulged in a double spa treatment - full body massage for US$87 each, early bird deal. Highly recommended. The overall holiday experience here was simply delightful with extremely friendly and courteous staff who literally couldn't do enough for you. The all inclusive deal was good value for money with a great range and variety of international and caribbean food served in several different restaurants and beach bars. The wine was good too as was their range of special wines that you could pay extra for. Dining has to be booked in advance for the a la carte restaurants and an extra fee of US$35 each for Le Jardin. Recommended for at least 1 sitting complete with a pianist. The beach area was kept spotlessly clean with ample sun beds, parasols and waiters to bring you your drinks! The water sports that were included in the holiday were very popular with a great team of very hard working locals who would take you out and teach you the ropes. Sail boating, Paddle boarding, Kayaking, Pedalos, Water Skiing and a Banana boat were all available. Beach vendors had Jet Skis too but a little on the expensive side at US$60 for 30 mins. The resort is beautifully presented and manicured gardens set around the beachfront and surrounding hillside with various room upgrades available at a cost. Above all, a great experience in a lovely resort and some fabulous trips available around the island that can either be booked directly from the hotel or St Lucia Reps who work for all the tour operators. A must is to go on a cruise to Soufrierre and the Piton Mountains, waterfall, botanic gardens and the mud bath experience. We did this and a romantic sunset cruise too. Both fantastic value for money. Ignore the most of the negative reviews because in our experience, if there was anything wrong at all, the duty manager will move heaven and earth to put things right and make your holiday perfect. Only gripe for us was some loud Americans and a bit of noise from people in the swim up bar. Dress code for some of the restaurants weren't always observed by everyone which the hotel could address. This resort is only half a mark form being 5 star rated in our opinion and we will certainly return. Thank you to everyone who made our visit such a memorable one. Flight and holiday booked through British airways fully Inclusive for 10 nights Beachfront room situated away from nightlife etc in block 5. Recommended. Transfer from airport included took 1hr 20 mins Used Saint Lucia Reps for trips out - Highly recommended - (Valencia and Hiaciynth tour reps) Great value for money Used US$ but you can pay in $ECB too. Electrical sockets 3 pin UK so no need for adaptors.

A wet start with damp patches all the way through. This was our second visit to St Lucia having previously visited in November 2017 to the Royalton. We found this holiday to be equally as good if not better in a few areas. The most noticeable was the service throughout all areas, never waiting for more than a minute or two and with regular top ups offered by dining waiting staff. The staff were always cheerful with quite a number of comedians amongst them. The food wasn’t a la carte but was adequate and wholesome and we didn’t suffer any upset stomachs at any point. The tranquil atmosphere on the beach was a bonus unlike most places where you get full blast boom boom all day. The only down side I could find was the rooms although clean and comfortable are well overdue a little refurbishment and modernising. Snorkelling off the beach isn’t worth the effort as you can’t see more than half an arms length due to the sand mixed in the water. It could do with some rocks piling up across the swimming area to break the waves before they hit the beach. I would highly recommend an holiday here and would certainly go back if the world wasn’t so big a place to explore. The tout bagay trip was well worth it and we also employed the services of Groovy Tours, a very friendly and knowledgable taxi driver who lives 2 minutes away gervy_c@hotmail.com

My boyfriend and I stayed at St James for 10 days in October and we had an amazing time! The resort is really friendly, the food is great and the staff are really attentive! One of the reasons we chose this resort was because of the watersports and we weren't disappointed. For 3 hours each day you have the chance to go wakeboarding and waterskiing which is part of your package which weve never seen anywhere before. We also tried out the paddleboarding and hobbycats. The guys on the watersports were really friendly and always there to teach you if you needed tips. Rio even took us out on a short sailing tour one day! We always managed to get a go on the watersports but we were there in low season so you may have to sign up early if you go in high season. There are 7 restaurants on site. 4 are a la carte and you need to book them. We never had any problem getting a booking on the day. Our favourite restaurant however was actually the buffet. The food was always fresh and hot and lots to chose from! You could easily stay at the hotel for your whole holiday but if you wanted to do any trips there were plenty to chose from and the lady at the activity desk gave good advise on what to do. We did the hotel chocolate tour where you make your own bar of chocolate and finish with a sunset boat trip. We also did the fishfry on the friday night which is a must! Its about 20 mins away from the hotel and you just go and eat lovely street food and dance the night away! Other points to note: The hotel is about an hour and half from the airport by taxi The rooms are slightly dated but still nice and the beds are comfy There is a great gym on site and they run classes throughout the day Watch the sunset from the sunset bar on the hill, it is stunning
