Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach

I booked this family vacation by using my Hilton Honors membership. This was my first time cashing in my points to do this. The hotel we thought we were getting and the hotel we got are two totally different buildings! The pool was incredibly small for being a Hilton, we thought. If you are stayin in the Marina tower you’ll have to park forever away. Bell hops were always in short supply and never found in the Marina tower. Our breakfast option for the hotel was never made clear. We didn’t even know the hotel had a breakfast option until our last day. Just wasn’t what we thought we were getting.

I’m giving the hotel 4/5 because there’s not much they could do about my complaints. The beach was beautiful, the attendants there were so helpful. The rooms are decent, and it seems like they’re doing some updating. We had a partial ocean view with a beautiful view of the Bahia Mar Marina. The chicken tenders at the Waves rooftop bar were delicious and not terribly priced. They made me virgin pina coladas (6mo pregnant) and they were really good! But drinks are pricey. Just a virgin drink was $7 but that’s to be expected at an ocean front hotel. There were restaurants within walking distance (do yourself a favor and get the Mahi tacos at Bo’s Beach!!!) For the down sides, if you’re looking for a relaxing vacation, DO NOT go in the spring months. The spring breakers made the trip borderline unbearable. They completely took over the pool. There were groups of them all blasting music over each other. They took up the entire pool and crowded the bar area. They were cussing and yelling and it was just not family friendly at all. The only time we could enjoy the pool was in the morning and evening when they were either sleeping off the night before or getting ready to go out. Again, not Much the hotel could have done, but keep this in mind if you’re booking for spring.

The hotel staff bent over Backwards to accommodate my girlfriend and I. Our first room we checked into had a leak and the bed frame was broke . Within minutes we were moved to another room. The only issue would be the noise.

Although this property has a great location we were disappointed with our stay. They issue too many day passes for non guests of the property. There was a bouncer at the entrance but they never asked if you were a guest of the hotel. The pool was packed on the weekend far more than the capacity can hold to the point where the pool became unusable and had to be shut down on Monday to be “cleaned”. They have a very small bathroom that was packed with mask less people and people who would use the bathroom stalls as a phone booth. It was busy during the week but the weekend was horrible. The guests of the hotel were disgusted and said it was chaos, don’t even go in. We were shocked at the amount of people in the pool and in the deck area. We didn’t stay long. The hand sanitizer stations were always empty in our entrance to the skywalk to the pool or beach. We asked 5 times at front desk for them to be filled but never happened. Like I said, nice location, comfortable room.

Wonderful experience! I want to say a special thx u to the whole staff here especially Jacksene at the beach who was so sincere at accommodating my family at the beach. Once again we could not be any happier. God bless u all!!
