My experience was ok, lack of communication

The hotel alone was very nice the cleaning staff I really thought went above and beyond. There was a day that I was late getting my day started and they came back twice to ask if I needed assistance in the room. Which I really liked. The casino is nice and has a fair amount of games. The reason I am giving the hotel a 3/5 is due to lack of communication with hotel guest during emergency. On my last day I had an early flight to catch, when going to try and shower my water was not coming on. The sink was not either. I called front desk, and the person there was not very helpful about the situation. I’ve worked in hospitality before and understand situations do arise, but the way she handled it was not the best of her ability. When asking how long it would take to restore power I was told a couple of hours. I asked about what could we do because I did need to get ready for the day there was no answer. She made it out to seem that it was our problem to resolve. Then hung up. Went downstairs to find that I was obviously not the only one complaining. I just wish we would have received and email about the issue as soon as it happened or a note under the door like many other hotels do. This is not what I was expecting from a hotel like this.

Stayed here due to a tragedy that happened in our family. Needed a hotel that was accommodating for many people traveling in on a moments notice and this was on budget and was actually close enough to the highway for us. The grounds are decent but the inside of the hotel is amazing. Our room was extremely clean and comfortable and recently redone. We had an adjoining room with our kids which made it easier for us to keep an eye on them. They were able to get all of our family members on the same floor. Didn’t get to see much of the actual hotel due to the circumstances we were here but they did have a Starbucks in it which was nice. They also waived the resort fee which was excellent. We ended up staying a little longer and they accommodated us Without any issue. Would definitely stay here again. My only reservation is how far away from the middle of strip it is.

I have only one complain. The elevator. During the week was normal but once The Weekend came there was a line. Sunday for checkout to come down from the 24th floor we waited 35 min. Not acceptable. That was the only thing that the hotel needs to change.

I stayed here on the 10th of October. The checkin staff is friendly and welcoming. The outside of the hotel smells like marijuana and you can smell it also through the air conditioning vents which is very annoying. The area doesn’t seem very safe after dark.

Nice property, clean, north end of Strip

I stayed at the Sahara Las Vegas arriving on October 6 and departing on October 9, 2020, in room 32708. While this location is on the Strip, it is at the north end, so there aren't the huge crowds as there on the Strip are further to the south. I was able to utilize self parking in the inside parking garage easily. I chose to stay at the Sahara as my son's wedding party was staying here. As a first responder, I received a great room rate. Kevin, who checked me in, was kind enough to place me in a room near my son's rooms. I was required to have my temperature checked when I registered. My room, a king, was clean and comfortable. I had a nice exterior view to the south. Every staff member I encountered was polite. After the wedding dinner, I needed an additional refrigerator to store leftover food and a staff member was kind enough to bring up a second refrigerator even though it was about 12 midnight. On site there is Starbucks, a taco restaurant, and Northside Cafe. I can attest that Northside has great breakfast food, and also great Chinese food for dinner. Their staff is also welcoming. I didn't gamble so I can't comment on the casino. The elevators were quick and added security included needing a room keycard to access an elevator on the lobby level. I saw security staff on site and felt safe while there. The only negative remark I have is the frequent smell of burning marijuana on the property. I recognize recreational marijuana is legal in Nevada. However, I recall ONE time I didn't smell burning marijuana in my hallway, in the elevator waiting area, or in the elevator. I recognize Las Vegas caters primarily to "let's party" but the pot use in the Sahara is bad enough I would not stay at this location again. It is a shame as the location is great and easy to drive to other locations in Vegas. Kudos to everyone who made the stay otherwise great. Properties are made of people, not buildings, and I was really impressed with Sahara staff members.
