One week in paradise

Jodie G on Apr 26, 2024

This trip was fantastic! We arrived on a Monday afternoon to a gorgeous open front check in desk, the staff were ready for us and the check in was smooth. We had a personal concierge who brought us a drink of our choice while we were finalizing the check in. The bracelet had a tab on it that acted as out key card for our hotel room which was so handy. No fear of being locked out of your room or worrying about misplacing your room key! The only thing missing was a little dresser to un pack, however there are shelves in the closet you could use for clothing. I just personally prefer dresser drawers. Anyhow not a deal breaker by any chance! The mini fridge was stocked with local beer as well as a generous assortment of soft drinks. On the ledge above the fridge was two reusable water bottles! Genius I loved that this was so much better than single use water bottles, the resort had water fill stations everywhere so you could always have ice cold water any where! There was shampoo and conditioner as well as body wash in wall mounted pumps and the products were great, I apologize I can't recall the brand. Hair dryer was in the closet on a shelf under the safe. The only strange thing was there were no face cloths in the room, we had to call the front desk to obtain them. The rooftop bar and pool area is for the VIP guests, the patio bar and lounge area was great. The pool was a bit strange for my liking as it was covered / enclosed so not really my style but I'm sure other people enjoy it. They have their own food menu as well up there too. The PB level takes you out to the pool deck, the area where the buffet is located and the kids club area. The beach is just steps down from the pool deck. They do not have loungers on the sand though only up on the pool deck. However the day they were setting up for a wedding the staff moved quite a few loungers down to the beach to make room for the wedding set up. The staff are very efficient and very organized. We never had an issue getting loungers and didn't need to get up at the crack of dawn to claim our spot. Carlos at breakfast and lunch is a super star!!! Oscar was always checking to ensure that we had what we needed as we lounged and read and played in the surf. 10/10 would go back. This is a smaller facility and we loved it!

Disappointing Vacation

Deborah S on Apr 24, 2024

The small hotel is charming with nice rooms. Every room has a balcony and is ocean front, very close to the water. Beach is small but wonderful. Sunset views are stunning. Hotel is far from town. Public transit is across the street and you can go into town for 10 pesos. Very convenient. Our room had a defective safe and plugged drain, which took three days to resolve. No hot water on occasion, and once - no water at all. Hit and miss on housekeeping - towel replacement, coffee, clean cups etc. This is a family friendly resort with two pools, but no adult only area. Kids and families took over from early morning till dark. Food was the worst experienced in the 10 times we were in Mx. Best option for food was the snack bar by the pool. The Sports Bar did not open once in two weeks. Private events closed another bar and several areas of the small outdoor space at least 5 times in two weeks. Few employees spoke English but we all managed fine. This hotel seemed to dedicate their efforts and attention on families from Mx. which was the majority of the clientele. We were ignored on the most part. The bartenders and serving staff on pool deck were great. The lifeguard on duty was amazing. Really kept an eye on everyone. We won't return primarily because of the food and no restful adult areas.
