Great vacation

gregory r on Apr 27, 2024

We highly recommend Sandals resort La Toc in St Lucia, my wife and I recently stayed there for our wedding anniversary. The resort is unique because is on a mountain and has beautiful gardens and the staff was welcoming and attentive. surprisingly Sandals upgraded our room to the Honeymoon Hideaway rooms and Charles, one of the many great employees there, showed us to our room. We quickly realized that he is an amazing person and was absolutely helpful to us in every way. He even helped us with a restaurant reservation in a booked restaurant and spoke to his supervisor Sameera and they made it possible. As we were leaving, Charles made sure we had beverages and a box of cookies for our ride home. We can't say enough about how enjoyable and relaxing it was to stay at Sandals La Toc or getting to know Charles. He is a phenomenal employee making sure you want to go back to visit Sandals La Toc.

Great beach! Great food! Best Butlers!!!

Rachael R on Apr 27, 2024

Though the rooms are a bit outdated they are under construction for some new rooms that look to be amazing. The staff are friendly and helpful. The butler service is amazing. They are attentive and knowledgeable about the resort. The beach was one of the nicest beaches I have seen. I lived on an island for 3 years and I have never been impressed by a beach since. The water was so clear and warm. I understand some people have had negative experiences with this beach however you cannot control the water and have to know when to enter and exit. There are flags at the beach to tell you whether it is safe to go in or not. If the flag is red there is a reason. And again no one can control the ocean and weather patterns. The food at this resort was phenomenal.

A lovely stay

Heena R on Apr 26, 2024

My husband and I stayed at Sandals Regency La Toc in April 2024 for 10 days. We were there celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary and we can honestly say we are really glad we chose the hotel for our stay. St Lucia is a beautiful island, we did some exploring (Hotel Chocolat, mud baths and snokerling via a catamaran) and we felt 9 nights was the perfect amount of time (having travelled from the UK). Positives: - The staff were very friendly and accomodating (see our shout outs to particular stff further down!) - The hotel was lovely, a bit dated and could do with a bit of a refresh but overall, it had what we needed - The room (Emerald Honeymoon Oceanview) was well equipped and exactly what we needed - A good choice of restaurants and cuisines - The hotel offered some lovely little touches - champagne in the room, cake on our anniversary etc - to make our celebration even more special - The option to get a free shuttle bus to the other 2 Sandals resorts - The option to book and pay for a taxi to take us to Castries or anywhere else we wanted to travel to (this helped us feel safe as the taxi driver would take us to our destination and then either wait for us or arrange a time and meeting location to meet at and bring us back to the hotel) Improvements: - I had to go down between 6-7am every day to reserve a sunbed, if I didn't, there was no chance to getting one. There simply aren't enough sunbeds for the size of the hotel/number of guests. - There are photographers and staff from the spa often walking around the pool area selling their services. They were polite when we declined but we didn't appreciate having to say the same thing to numerous staff, numerous times a day. We would have preferred more server staff to take drinks orders etc around the pool (this only happened once), we were happy to go to the bar and order, it is just that more staff is something we expected for a 5 star resort. - We booked a private candlelight dinner for our anniversary which is an additional cost. It was a lovely evening but for the cost we hoped for a bit more. We were able to prebook our dinner, but during the previous evenings, we noticed a lot of what we pre-ordered was available in the restaurants anyway. It would have been nice if the private dinner options were completely different. The dinner also takes place very close to Neptunes restaurant so other diners can overlook, it would be nicer if the paid for private dinner was in a more intimate location. - On Tuesday the Pavilion was closed for a private Sandals returners dinner. This in itself was not a problem, but it did mean the other restaurants got very busy, we were lucky to have been able to get a table at Neptunes, but we know a few other guests had no other choice but the pub because all the other restaurants close at the same time. - Overall the staff were great, but we did find that the staff at the culinary desk were not the easiest to liaise with. It was possible to book Regency La Toc restaurants via the app, but not to do the same for the other 2 resorts. These had to be booked via the desk, but we would have preferred a fully digitised option. When I booked Pitons via the app, it didn't show up under the 'booked' tab, by the time the day arrived, we couldn't remember what time we booked for so again had to go to the desk to check. - Also, on booking restaurants. If the bookings were digitised, it would be easier to check if there were any cancellations to avoid having to keep going to the desk to check. - It would be great to have at least 1 buffet option for dinner. There were days where we just weren't hungry enough for a full al a carte meal and a buffet would have been a better option. - More local cuisine would have been great, Pitons is a Caribbean restaurant and the food was delicious but it didn't feel as authentic as we thought it would be, and we didn't get any mangos at breakfast in the fruit buffet which was a surprise! Shout outs: As mentioned, overall the staff were so friendly and the majority of them went out of their way to help and make sure we had a great time. In particular, we would like to mention: - Entertainment team: IG Hannah Martin Natalia Pepper Such stars who kept us entertained and were there to help out whenever we needed - thank you! - Dining/bar: Nigel (at Cricketers) - what a lovely man, always with a smile on his face Moise - the restaurant manager who is such a gentleman Yasmin from the Bella Napoli who sorted us out with delicious pizzas (especially on our last day when we were on a time crunch!) Myers - the most entertaining chef at Kimonos, we had so much fun and the food was incredible Mandy our server during our private dinner, she did a brilliant job and we are so glad we had her Martina who made the best omlettes in the Pavilion! Elijah, John, Joan, Bedena and Ozzy - bar staff, always there keep the drinks flowing! General: Travis - always checking in to make sure we were happy - such a great guy!

Amazing Sansals Regency La Toc

Jmoody2211 on Apr 26, 2024

From the moment you are greeted at the airport and taken to the Sandals lounge for a cool drink whilst you wait for your transfer, to the moment you get off the transfer at the end of your holiday, you are looked after so well. We had the most amazing time at Regency La Toc. All of the staff are friendly and helpful and always happy. Your welcome and goodbye at the hotel is something we will never forget.(I won't give it away, what the welcome is but is as a lovely start to your holiday). Food was amazing and with the choice of 27 restaurants at the 3 sandals resorts on the island it is like your going out for a meal every night not your normal buffet style all Inclusive. Everyone catered for, Indian ,Italian, Caribbean, Mediterranean French and pizza available and more. Recomend the poolside bbq night. All drinks are premier brands (absolut vodka ,bombay saphire tanqueray gin and Jamesons whisky to name a few. If you are playing golf , there is no need to book a tee time. The shuttle bus runs from La Toc at 7.am every morning calling at the other 2 resorts on the way to Cap estate golf and Country club. It is first come first to go out . We took our own clubs but the hire clubs are all new Titleist. You have to hire a buggie that is $50 per buggie. The course is lovely too. Well worth a visit. Recommend the early start as it can get very hot. No tipping is allowed and everything is included, scuba diving snorkeling, kayaks, paddle boards and sail boats. Entertainment team are always full of energy and ready to entertain you by the poolside. All the shuttle buses to the different resorts are free and frequently depart from reception. We had such an amazing time we booked again for next year. Worth looking at their loyalty scheme to get some discounts if you return Recommend 100%. Jay and Lou

Great service, dated hotel, brilliant holiday.

Departure39812258289 (Romsey, United Kingdom) on Apr 26, 2024

Travel Party Two couples in our 30s, one gay and one straight, journeyed together. Arrival Experience Our arrival began smoothly with an easily located Sandals lounge at the airport, though minor hassles with porters and a broken air conditioner made the initial wait slightly uncomfortable. The taxi journey, while manageable, could be challenging for those with motion sickness—a helicopter ride might be a worthwhile splurge. Accommodation The rooms, although marketed as recently refurbished, felt a bit tired. They did, however, compensate with ample space and breathtaking views, particularly in the luxury pool area where we stayed. The extra cost was justified by the vistas alone. Dining The food generally met our expectations with all restaurants delivering satisfying meals, except for the Italian restaurant, which we found disappointing and would not recommend. The standout dining experience came from visiting other resorts, notably the impeccable service at Kelly's in Halcyon and the delicious offerings at the Bombay restaurant in Grande. Resort Facilities The resort was well-maintained though showing signs of wear in some areas. The main pool area was particularly crowded, necessitating an early rise to secure a sunbed. Entertainment leaned towards an American taste and occasionally felt tacky, though the variety was appreciated. Staff and Service The service was exceptional, highlighted by our interactions with staff members Lisa, Charles, and Celine at different points in our stay, all of whom went above and beyond, adding a personal touch to our experience. Nightlife and Transport The availability of transportation to other resorts was limited, affecting our ability to enjoy evening activities. An extension of dinner timings and entertainment beyond 9 PM would have been desirable. Spa Services The persistent approach by spa representatives while sunbathing was less than relaxing and could be improved. Overall Sandals Regency La Toc offers stunning landscapes and excellent service but is somewhat let down by its dated facilities compared to other Sandals resorts. Despite this, the natural beauty and exceptional staff make for a memorable vacation. A solid choice, but with room for some enhancements.
