Housekeeping needs work... and windows do not open!

We choose this hotel as it included the line fast passes. The room was ok, motel style bathroom with sink outside the toilet and bath/shower area. There was hair on the bathroom floor and it was not mine! Very off putting. Also q tips on the hallway carpet and the next day room service trolley from dinner left there. What I really did not like was the windows could not open, no room in the hotel can you open the windows and there was sort of an odd stale smell so I wanted to change the air. Breakfast buffet very low end looking, but lovely service and good coffee.

Very nice property located within easy walking distance to Universal Studios parks and CityWalk. Front desk staff very helpful on check in letting us know the easiest paths to get to the parks. Very useful to be able to text from cell phone to the hotel to get housekeeping, arrange a wake up call, etc. Staff at pool side arrange games and activities for kids hourly in the afternoons and my child liked doing this. Staff there were very friendly. They offer a free milkshake or smoothie for the winners of the games. Frankly, while the hotel is nice, it is more expensive than you would expect. You are really paying for the location and the included express pass to the parks, which is worth the money.

Very clean and the beds are awesome. Pool area is second to none. The water Taxi's are a great relaxed way to get directly to Universal City Walk and theme parks from the resort. Express passes are a must and they are included with the hotel. All the staff are very friendly and are eager to assist in any way they can. We will be sure to stay here when we next visit Universal Orlando. This is not just a hotel it is a Resort.

The staff were very helpful and courteous. The resort was clean, beautiful and very easy to access the parks & City Walk (by walking or water shuttle). The Express Passes are a huge plus! The restaurants on site were wonderful and the pool wait staff were accomodating and attentive. TukTuk market had great breakfast & lunch items that both my kids enjoyed. We would definitly go back.

    Great location, dirty room

The good?: location, express passes, location, activity clerk was great, location, internet service was good. The bad?: there are many, the main thing was the housekeeping was bad, the room was dirty - stuff to pick up off the floor from previous guests, black stuff on the mirror, unwiped counter tops, etc. I brought disinfectant wipes and cleaned the bathroom sink and counters myself. Flagged down a housekeeper to clean the mirror. Sheets were worn and thin, there was a rip in my bed. I needed distilled water which they said they carried, the front desk clerk called room service to verify that they did have it in stock, then told me to when I return to my room, call room service. I did only to have room service tell me that they don't have it, I said you do, I was put on hold and when she picked up again she did apologize and said it would be up to my room in 15-20 minutes. 40 minutes later it arrived. Other guests were greeted with leis, we were not. I see other reviews mentioning a breakfast buffet, there was none for us. (Maybe if you go for the premium rooms?) On our last morning there, the clerk at the Tuk Tuk Market informed the guest in front of me that if you kept the Starbucks coffee cup, you could get a refill for free on the same day. Previous two mornings, no mention of free refills. Would I stay there again? Maybe, but I would be more vocal if things weren't up to par. The location is wonderful and the grounds/trails are beautiful. But there were a lot of missed opportunities for good customer service from the staff. When I checked out, I was asked how my stay was and I replied "Good except for the housekeeping staff's ability to clean the room" and the answer I got was "I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, you're all checked out."
