Stayed here with family in November 2019. The condo is right by the beach and the common area has a pool, spa, fitness studio and more. The condo is nice, good quality. Parking is free! We had trouble turning on the AC but figured it out. We couldn’t turn off the living room fan. The unit has a washer and dryer that is an extra bonus. Keep in mind, a safe for valuables is an extra $2 charge. Bed is a bit uncomfortable and the AC only was installed in the living room which left the bedroom too hot.

I was impressed with Kamaole Sands condos. I was expecting a musty old hawaii vibe but instead was pleasantly surprised to walk into an immaculately clean huge condo. Condo 7-409 was really nice. Sparkling clean. Brand new looking towels provided. Kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, garbage disposal, big fridge/freezer with ice trays, toaster, blender. Downstairs bedroom had a full sized bed & a single bed, a ceiling fan & a large floor fan. This room might get hot bc the AC is only upstairs but this room did have the fans. 1 full bathroom with a shower downstairs. Living room with tv & cable, ceiling fan. The upstairs loft had a wall unit AC, ceiling fan, 1 queen bed, 1 full bathroom with shower. The AC had a timer control to only run at 6hr increments but I found that the upstairs ceiling fan & upper window fan exhaust worked very well to keep you cool just by themselves. The outdoor lanai had a large table with plenty of chairs & 1 lounge chair. This unit has a partial ocean view & overlooks the middle grounds & pool is too the side view but far enough away that their isn’t much noise. I found it to be very quiet at all hours mostly. This complex is directly across from Kamaole 3 beach where lots of turtles are. You can walk to some of the Kihei bars & restaurants. There is a designated parking spot for you. I don’t know if the other units are similar or if each one is privately owned but I enjoyed my stay enough that I would definitely recommend it & would stay here again.

Our unit as usual was very clean, when we have booked with PMI Maui. Unit 3-108 is remodeled so kitchen and bathrooms are new. My only complaint is they used dark cabinets so makes it a little dark in the rooms, nice big centre island. Had a couple small issues and as they always do PMI corrected immediately even going as far as installing a new living room air conditioner the very next day, WOW. Bedroom has an air conditioner also. Unit is nice and close to pool.

    Highly recommend unit 3-101.

Repeat visit to this unit which we booked through PMI Maui, and had been renovated when last we stayed. Even more new updates this time around including all new furnishings such as very comfy sofa, area rug, coffee & end tables, lamps, dining room furniture, Murphy bed - even recently updated paint color on walls, complete with new artwork - Wow! Such a nicely appointed end unit on ground floor with easy pool access for the kiddos. We will definitely stay here again - highly recommend!

Beautiful area, great location, but disappointing condo unit

First the good stuff - the condo complex is conveniently situated just across from Kamaole Beach 3. It is walking distance to a lot of restaurants/retail areas, and relatively central to driving around various parts of the island. The grounds are immaculately maintained. Front office people were very friendly and helpful. Our unit was on the ground floor, right across the pool entrance. Unfortunately, our condo unit was lacking in so many areas. It needed updating badly. The furniture were comfortable but worn out, the kitchen cupboards were so faded where the handles were, the fridge was old, the lanai curtains looked stained and unwashed, etc. The air conditioner worked well, except it stalled a couple of times and didn't kick out when the timer was done. I could handle old, so long as it was clean, but this is where we also had issues. We came in close to midnight and were just ready for bed, only to discover our pillowcases looked unwashed with brown stains on them and smelled very strongly of some flowery scent. I would've complained right there and then, but because of the lateness and the fact that the front office people wouldn't be able to do anything about it anyway, we ended up just searching through the stash of pillowcases for clean ones (which were not as easy to find as one might think because most of them had stains!) I spent an almost sleepless night as the heavy scent really bothered me too. To the credit of the rental office, they did rectify the situation the next day, after I sent in a complaint. There were lots of towels provided, however, they were also in the same condition - mostly stained and well worn, smelling heavily perfumed. I was actually appalled that anyone would consider it okay to leave out towels that were so worn out and tattered for anyone to use, let alone a paying renter! On our third day, I decided to use do laundry. I used the detergent pods that were provided. That's when I found out that it was the detergent that left that stickly-sweet fragrance. And the brown stains on the pillowcases and towels - the dryer caused our clothes to be stained with the exact same things. We have a few items that after coming home and re-washing with different stain removers, are still damaged. So, in summary, yes, I would recommend the condo complex to stay at. However, be careful of which unit you stay at. Book directly with an owner, if you can. There were some very nice-looking units we saw during our walks in the area. We booked our trip as an airline package so we didn't have any choice as to which unit would be assigned to us - something we probably wouldn't do again. Our unit was 3-102, so you know which to avoid!
