Please DO NOT stay here! Room thefts and no help from the staff. We needed a basic place to sleep and rest so this place worked out for us. And so we thought... First night went by. Second day came along and went by. Third day, our room was serviced even though we had the "Do not disturb" sign hanging. Fourth day, we were told by the staff that our room was serviced but nothing was done. This is when the problem started. On our last night at this hotel, our rooms (my sister and ours) were broken into and items were stolen. There was no forced entry. They took our personal home and vehicle keys and stole our van. We notified the hotel staff and they did not assist us. They said that it's out of their hands and we were on our own. The next day, the General Manager, Chris was informative but that was it. Still no "apologies" of any sorts were given. We ended up doing what we needed to do. We ended up staying at another hotel for one night because we did not feel safe there anymore.
Sad to say, last time I'll be staying at Portofino - not worth the savings

I've been staying at this hotel about every year since 2016. I've always known what it is - a budget hotel within easy walking distance of Disney. But over the years, the rooms have been getting dirtier and more worn - to the point where it's just not worth the low price anymore. This will be my last visit. The room (1113) smelled like sewage, the A/C was either on - and absolutely freezing cold - or it was off. It was miserable. They sent a technician to fix it twice and he said the units just need to be replaced - they are too old and either the cold is on or the heat is on - you can't adjust the temperature. I shivered under the covers with socks on every night. I got a Febreze plug in to mask the sewage smell. The carpet was so worn and dirty I wouldn't walk on it in bare feet. And I could hear EVERY SINGLE thing the family in the next room was saying and doing. Not muffled. Very clear words. It was like they were in the same room. So to mask the sound, I had to turn the (loud) A/C back on and froze. I was at the Parks all day and was too tired at night to ask for a room change. I have done that in previous years and found there wasn't much difference in the rooms anyway. I really wish they would fix the issues because it was a good thing for a few years there. The sewage smell was there on other visits and we did switch rooms. I've seen it mentioned in other reviews. It's amazing they just can't fix that! And put in even some basic upgrades. But I guess now they are major upgrades - new carpet, new A/C units, sound proofing in walls, replace beat up furniture. Sigh. Oh well, it was good while it lasted.
