Let me just start off by saying that this is a great resort to stay on Universal property. It is a “deluxe” therefore you receive express pass tickets as a bonus which trust me, you’re really going to need in the parks. I happened to get a free upgrade to stay here which was an awesome move by Universal! Overall the entire resort is really beautiful?. It smells fantastic? and the atmosphere really is very tropical. The pool is amazing! During busy times, I am sure it’s tough to grab chairs, but the staff would 100% accommodate for you. The food and restaurants were okay, nothing crazy, but I feel that way about food in Universal in general. A touch overpriced for some cheese and grapes, but definitely doesn’t effect my review for this place. Our room was nice, but a little beat down... They should update their furniture for sure. BUT IT WAS STILL A GREAT ROOM, really pretty! Just needs some touch ups here and there. There was no cleaning service unfortunately, but if you need something, you get a number to text and they send whatever you need RIGHT up. The staff here was really great! Now let’s get into Covid?; You do have to wear a mask whenever you are walking around and there are temperature check stations throughout? the resort. I of course abided by this rule, but if for whatever reason I had my mask off, no one screamed at me to put it back on.? Same for in the parks, but they were a little more on top of you about covid procedures. The most annoying thing about this stay was the limited boats to and from the parks, we waited an entire hour one night! That’s not their fault, that’s just covid rules. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone would wants to stay on property. Had a really amazing time!

Time to ditch the masks outside and provide daily room cleanings

We love staying at Royal Pacific and will definitely return. The fast pass in the parks is the best benefit plus the convenient access to the parks and City Walk. It’s so nice to do the morning in the parks, grab a lunch to go and spend the afternoon by the pool, then catch a few more rides in the park before dinner at City Walk. The ferry is a nice way to travel at Universal, but the hotel is a short walk to the parks. The pool is awesome. We loved the beachside with it’s shallow entrance. The pool bar drinks are super weak and expensive. Don’t waste your money on them. I’m tired of hotels using Covid as an excuse not to offer daily maid service. Perhaps offer guests the option? It seems like an excuse to cut corners. Also, it’s time to cut out wearing masks outside at Universal.

    Hotel has gone Downhill

We came back because we stayed several years ago. The resort itself has gone downhill. It’s not kept up. We were dropped off by Uber and there was no one around at the bell service. It wasn’t very busy at the time. We walked up and you could see handprints and smeared markings on the windows as you crossed the bridge at the entrance. Our bathroom floor was super sticky so our feet stuck to it. When we called they did answer and take care of things. When you looked around the furniture was damaged in the halls and floors weren’t vacuumed. We left one day and came back and our door left open. It turns out the maid accidentally left it open but the latch wasn’t working correctly. Also- while we were there another guest had a tantrum in our hall and beat down the exit sign that was attached to the ceiling. He was screaming and cussing. Between that and our door being left open we asked to be moved. We were worried about safety. It’s a bummer because we loved it the last time.

Wonderful hotel with attentive, cheerful staff! Loved the poolside bar and shipwrecked nachos. The ease and convenience to both parks is amazing. Walking path was shaded and was surrounded with lush vegetation. Was very pleased with the separate security entrances for hotel guests. Made entering the parks an absolute breeze.

The room didn't feel clean right from the minute I stepped in it. The first thing I was told upon checking in was that there would not be any room cleaning by staff during my stay, but because of the length of my extended 8 night stay, I could request a room 'freshen up' but without fresh bedding as the staff will not touch the bedding? The room was dusty, and damp and none of our towels, swim suites , or wet ride clothing completely dryed out. The bathroom floors were gross, and the shower seemed to have a fly infestation. The TV had a big line down the middle when turned on and the sound was spotty. The phone didn't work, nor did the phone charging ports. My husband also suffered from bug bites and filed a compliant with no real resolution or help, and management stated they would follow up in 15 days? My daughter and I now also have visible bug bites. I'm extremely disappointed with my whole vacation package and expected a better experience and stay for what I paid. The room and service felt like a cheap motel 6 stay but at my expense that wasn't at all cheap or at all what I was being sold when purchasing online. My Universal dinning plan experiences were a let down: MANY dinning plan locations didn't open until much later in the day (no breakfast, and up not available until up to an hour after park open.) All of these same in park universal dining plan locations closed an hour before actual park closing. And all City walk universal dinning plan full service locations required a pre made reservation and at many were closed earlier then the posted hours online and on locations. And early park entry is only good for a ride or two if you are lucky for ride to open early and everyone there for early entry heads straight to those rides without express which makes either so called 'perk'not worth the additional cost. When I checked in for my ROOM ONLY took about an hour and had a long, slow wait line, which caused me to miss a spa appointment at Portifino Bay resort. While the front desk staff verified my vacation package purchase, charged me for 8 parking days, but failed to inform me that my theme park and dinning plan tickets were to be picked up at a different check in booth. So, on first day and first very first visit- starting off late & ill-informed. I then paid additional expenses out of pocket for lunch and dinner meals at full price at two different restaurants that I had planned to use those prepurchased dinning plan credits on, but with no idea I needed cards in hand. ?? I had to pick those up separately too, but that counter was closed by that time. And guess what I had left at the end of my stay? UNUSED MEAL CREDITS that expired last night, all because the hotel front desk check in staff didn't point me in the right direction, or helped with any aspect of of my vacation package, and could care less how much more money I spent on this exclusive resort. It ended costing me. Poor first impression, terrible customer service, and a disgusting room. Lastly, you cannot pool hop as a resort guest to the other universal resortsl pools as advertised to sell you online on their website, which was disappointing. The services overall were not up to par and cost me at lot money for extras my family and I feel ripped of.
