Amazing vacation

OrlyAce on May 04, 2024

Since we arrived the attention is wonderful, you go through the lobby with its amazing ocean view, at the preferred reception they make you feel like a king from the beginning to the end of your stay, then they introduce you to your concierge Carlos Miranda and Jose Becerra who serves all your needs, amazing attention. The entertainment team (Dani, Jorge, Armando, Iván) makes your day very fun, waiters in the pool (Daniel), waiters at the market restaurant (Edgar, Humberto, Allan) excellent service and attention, the complex has everything you need for you to enjoy and disconnect from the routine, of course I would return next year. However, what I didn't like is that there are people from the hotel who come to invite you to be part of a travel agency at the same hotel who are very insistent. The best restaurant for us was the Italian, however all the other restaurants are very good. Evening entertainment is very good but ends very early.

Second Time Here as Good as the First Time !!!

We just visited for nine days. The rooms, bars, and restaurants are wonderful, but the star of the show is the staff. Almost all the staff would do anything for you at any time. I highly recommend this Secrets location.

Great place for a wedding

gaerew (Omaha, Nebraska) on May 03, 2024

We brought a large group of friends and family for our wedding celebration and our experience definitely exceeded expectations. Due to some unanticipated staff turnover, we had a newly promoted wedding coordinator take over our wedding less than 45 days before the date. We were understandably concerned, but I can’t give enough praise to our coordinator Mariana De La Luz who stepped into the role and pulled off our wedding day to perfection and then some! She has great input and met even our most unique requests. Both Mariana and the weddings manager Iris were a pleasure to work with. If you have a wedding at Secrets please be sure to tip your wedding coordinator - this group in particular works extremely hard and under more pressure than most of the staff. Shout outs also to Luigi our emcee, Eduardo our butler in Secrets Preferred Club, and overall excellent staff at basically every part of the resort. Rooms are a bit tired, but were comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. Housekeeping kept things looking nice and towels / linens fresh. Dining was overall positive, breakfast and crepes were a standout. Specialty restaurants for dinner were enjoyable, but the food could be hit or miss - like steaks being under or overcooked. They will of course take care of you, but it can take time. Because this resort hosts weddings most days of the week, there will be music running as late as 10:30 or 11pm which you will hear in your room. Overall the resort and grounds are well kept and service is potentially its biggest strength. Our guests definitely enjoyed themselves. Even if we don’t return to this specific resort, Secrets as a franchise is on our radar.

Chef's Table

ladysamt on May 03, 2024

I am not even close to being a foodie, actually, I am quite a fussy eater, but my husband and I decided to give the Chef's Table experience a try during our stay at Secrets Vallarta Bay (SVB). When booking, you provide all of your likes, dislikes, preferences, allergies, etc. and they take care of everything. The only point I really have to stress is DO NOT EAT A LOT THAT DAY because it is a 7 course meal and our's ended with a surf & turf (filet mignon & lobster) followed by desert. Our's went as follows: salad paired with a nice rosé wine, shrimp entrée, soup, sea bass entrée all 3 paired with a light white wine, sorbet (to clean your palet) with a bubbly, filet mignon & lobster thermador paired with a full bodied red, followed by desert. (Keep in mind, your's may be different depending on your preferences.) In my opinion, what made this event even more interesting is that it takes place in the heart of the hotel kitchen, so you get to see the different kitchens where all of the daily meals are prepared. But what stood out for us is the cleanliness of this kitchen, it's outstanding! A huge THANK YOU to Chef Caren, Sommelier Ricardo and Waiter Alfonso. You guys were amazing !! We will definitely do this again.
