Kaanapali Maui at the Eldorado by Outrigger

My rating of the Maui Eldorado property is a "4". My rating of Unit Choice # A111 is a 2. I've stayed here three times and though the property is older, for the most part the grounds and units are decently maintained. It's close to shopping, dining and the beach. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Every unit, with the exception of the one we stayed in recently is comfortably furnished. The furnishings may be a bit older, but they are clean and in good condition. Sometimes you may find a little dirt or dust in a corner, but I'm ok with that. I love this condo because it's comfortable. Now for my review of Unit Choice A111. The only redeeming quality of this unit is it's partial view of the ocean, which is good. We chose Unit A111 based on the photos on the Outrigger website. The unit looked new and recently remodeled. This was not the case at all. The furnishings were old, worn and sad. I've been to Hawaii several times, so now enjoy just sitting on the lanai watching the ocean. I spend a great deal of time in the condo, so expect to have comfortable furnishings. The couch in unit A111 is so old that when you sit down the cushions pretty much fold up around you. There is absolutely no support, so your knees are higher than your seat. Several things didn't work such as the disposal, wall outlet in master bathroom. There is no cable set up in this unit. There is wifi, but it's weak too non existent depending on how close you are to the router and the time of day. There are dings in the wall paint through out the unit. The blinds in the front room are falling off. Good luck with finding out how to turn on the under cabinet lighting the kitchen. We did after a couple of days. Hint: it's located in one of the upper cabinets. If it hadn't been for the view from the lanai, and the fact that this was my sister's first visit to the island and we weren't home often, I would have requested to move to a different unit. Again my rating for the overall property is very good. For the specific unit (A111), not so much. I gave it a poor only because of the partial view of the ocean. If not for that I would have given it a 1 - Terrible.

I love F-103. Booked through Outrigger and would request this unit again. The location is perfect, next to 2 pools, the gym and the lobby. Sells as a 1 bedroom but able to separate the beds with a privacy divider. Great for families or friends traveling together. Washer and dryer in the unit. Saved money by cooking breakfast and lunch and went out for dinners. Large living room with dining table but we enjoyed meals at the table on the patio. Activities: Zipline, scuba diving, Lahaina luau, golf, surf lessons, sailing, shopping and hiking. Great restaurants nearby. Whalers village was walkable. Loved snorkeling at Blackrock. Beach cabana has a indoor /outdoor area with bathrooms and food cooking area.

We love this place. Great pool and cabana. Grills by the pool to cook. Everything we need to cook in our unit. VRBO rental and our owners greatly exceeded our expectations. Super clean on arrival! Only downside is not a very good view but if you come to Maui you should not be spending much time in your unit. Got it for more than 1/2 price of hotels and we are away from the beach walk crowds but just a short walk to the beach walk by cutting across the Sheraton property. All the comforts of home. No brainer on unit J115!!

We booked online with Expedia no problem. Check in was great, staff was friendly and welcoming (especially Channel!). There was a small host event closing up in the lobby as we arrived, but they saved us a couple of free drinks! We did find while chatting that one of our requests wasn’t met, but it was never a guarantee so we weren’t upset. They still found another room and moved us before we even had our room keys! We stayed stayed in studio G5. Very clean and had everything we needed. Kitchen was stocked, bathroom was huge, and there was even some laundry detergent. The grounds are lovely and well taken care of. There is a lot of little tiny lizards that run around the grass and walkways that caught us off guard at first, but they were never a nuisance or indoors, and they were actually fun to watch. The beach is a short walk, maybe 5 minutes, down a paved path. We never spent any time there but it looked nice. We did use the main pool and bbq’s available there. That was great. Parking was always easy to find, and overall it was fairly quiet. We had a great time and already plan to go back!

Beautiful garden or ocean view available. Be sure to book thru the Outrigger Company as they will stand behind the unit. Also they will supply you with needed supplies such as paper towels, dishwasher liquid, laundry detergent ( small washer and dryer in units), and toiletries such as shampoo, soap, lotion. We had a one bedroom 2nd floor garden-small pool view that was fabulous. Two full baths, huge lanai, fully equipped kitchen with cookware and table settings. Short walk to larger pool. Private beach cabana via golf cart driver. Unit was in pristine condition. Outrigger office adjacent to premises if any concerns. Hint.....Safeway market at cannery mall fully stocked..be sure to sign up for their discount card.....lots of specials offered with the card. Only 5min away from Eldorado. Also next door is a Long Drugs which is a partner of CVS. Have stayed there four times and love it. Away from the hub-bub of the large hotels. Parking included in resort free either outside or in garage on premises.
