Two week stay J106

Rhonda141 on May 23, 2022

The Eldorado really is a wonderful property. Situated 10 minutes from Whaler’s Village to the south, Lahaina a little further away but accessible by taxi or bus, Kapalua t o the north, broad beaches galore, on a golf course, private cabana on the beach. a wide variety of restaurants all over the place. Not our first time here. This time we just chose a unit that didn’t check all the boxes. Not managed by the Outrigger group. So, no cleaning service, no laundry service. Not what I had anticipated for a vacation - doing my own cleaning and laundry.. One set of towels and sheets provided along with toiletries and a starter coffee basket. The unit wasn’t all that clean and needs more attention. In addition, the unit is situated first floor in a corner. Very dark and the lighting inside wasn’t well thought out.. BBQ broken, internet/tv needed s reset. Decor is dark and rustic. On the plus side, new appliances, well-equipped kitchen. Short walk to the beach, or golf cart shuttles can be called for to and from rides to the beach. Be prepared to pay big bucks for everything here.

Rooms dark and old feeling, depressing, needing overhaul

Julie-pitre on May 22, 2022

We’ve stayed here before, but I have to say it’s really deteriorated in the last 3 years. Though its surroundings are gorgeous, and close to whalers village etc, I will not stay here again for the price we paid. The only thing that we rave about here is the cabana on beach.

Nice resort, mediocre room

JulieMcZ on Feb 20, 2022

The resort itself has a lot to offer. Nice pool for swimming and sunset viewing, close to nice beaches and snorkeling areas, near Whaler's Village with restaurants and shops. We stayed in unit H204 which left a lot to be desired. The decor/furniture was tired/dated. The deck could be greatly improved with new furniture. There is no dining table on the deck and the existing chairs are not particularly comfortable. The appliances were somewhat difficult to use, particularly the washing machine. Other than paper towels, there were no kitchen supplies provided. Though we had arranged for someone from the hotel to come get our bags on the morning of our departure, that didn't happen and we had to go chase someone down while our cab was waiting.

Good stay

Glidergirl21 on Dec 27, 2021

We stayed in a king studio unit. It was clean, good bed and pillows. Great patio furniture which made it lovely to spend time outside. Everything was in good working order. The only negative was the area rug under the coffee table was filthy. Wouldn’t even walk on it with shoes. Needs to be replaced or just thrown out. Our unit was in G block, ground floor. Across from main pool. Lots of people walking on the path in front of the lanai, so a little busy. But great central location. Near 2 pools, front desk, resort entrance. Ten minute walk through beautiful golf course to the beach cabana. Lovely. Beautiful landscaping. The hot tub was not well kept. Water was very dirty. I understand smoking in Hawaii just isn’t done but seriously, smokers are there spending their money too. Could you at least put a little table and a few chairs in the smoking area? Or a bench? Maybe an umbrella for when it’s pouring rain? Overall a good stay. Would stay here again.

Units are needing real TLC

CanadaMel (Vancouver) on Dec 27, 2021

First of all I've seen a bunch of reviews for private rentals that have nothing to do with Outrigger. My review is for Outrigger! A group of us stayed here for a couple weeks, and rented three studio units through Outrigger. The good points... great location, great staff, and the grounds are immaculate. Be aware that you will get zero housekeeping service... you have to launder your own towels, etc. The bad... all three of the units had multiple problems... the carpets were filthy (we quickly learned this after our bare feet became filthy), two units had clogged garbage disposals/sinks, burned out lights in every unit, bathroom fans that didn't work, mold around the A/C vent, broken fridge, etc. The consensus was that the beds were horribly uncomfortable, and pillows were old and lumpy. The hot tub is gross... just warm and smaller than some home hot tubs. We understand from an owner that going with this mini hot tub was a decision made after owner concerns about partying etc. Well.... bad decision. We felt like we were in Covid soup sitting in this not-hot hot tub, surrounded by strangers including a baby in diapers (ummm that's gross I don't want to sit in a tub with your baby's dirty diaper!). Anyways, the experience was disappointing because we had stayed here before four years ago.... it's clear nothing has been done to upgrade. I'd have been happy if they just kept up with maintenance and inspected/fixed the obvious problems. Until they decide to give it some TLC I won't book through Outrigger again. It makes me wary about booking any Outrigger property if they consider this acceptable. I get that the pandemic has been horrible for the industry but when everything is shut down why not just go through the units and do an inspection? Change light bulbs! LOL If you want to stay here I'd look at private rentals until they step up.
