My wife and I chose Majestic Colonial because of an Expedia deal, but we were certainly glad we did! When we arrived at the resort, we were incredibly impressed by the beauty and elegance of the lobby and facilities. Despite a late arrival and the time of night we arrived, Ambar, the concierge who helped us was cheery, personable, and very kind, even providing us with an upgraded room in the Colonial Club section of the resort because of a special occasion we were celebrating. As part of being put into the Colonial Club, we were assigned a butler to assist us during our stay. While we did not realize this at first, our butler Samuel tried to reach us a number of times, eventually leaving us a kind letter to get in contact. He was incredibly helpful, acting as a guide to different amenities in the Resort we had not yet made use of, and helping us with all of our requests! He helped to make our stay and check-out go smoothly and enjoyably and his eagerness and passion to serve his guests was easy to see in everything he did. The food was great, with a wide selection of restaurants and bars included on the premises, featuring some Dominican staples as well as western comfort foods. My wife was especially awed by the wide selection of fruits available at every meal. A specific highlight of our culinary experience was eating at the Steakhouse by the Beach one night where we were served delicious picanha and rib-eye steak cooked to perfection. The beach was very accessible and kept tidy providing a beautiful place to swim and sun-bathe, with two bars directly on the beach to serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Some tips: For English-speaking visitors, knowing some Spanish will prove invaluable, especially when ordering drinks or asking for directions from other staff/waiters. The majority of staff we met spoke more English than I spoke Spanish, but there were situations where knowing Spanish would have been helpful. All-in-all, we were very happy with our stay, and hope to come back to Majestic Colonial someday.

Our time at the Majestic Colonial was amazing! The resort itself was beautiful and the staff was exceptional and always gave us such great service. Juana stood out to us during our trip, she was a member of house keeping who always provided us with great service and left flowers in our room daily! She ensured that we were always able to return to a clean and comfortable room every day!
