I’ll start by saving people who don’t want to read a lot some time. To answer the $7000 question (cost for 6 days and flights) would our family go back, abosulely Not. You’ll be disspointed. Besides being in a beautiful location this place leaves a lot to be desired. Buildings are old and not well taken care of, food was not good in any way shape or form, they advertise they have 7 restaurants on site, but only 3-4 are open on a given day, some for lunch, some for dinner. No room service, they say you can call the restaurants and place to go orders but no one will answer the phone, ever. Room cleaning was hit or miss and we had to request more coffee and coffee cups each day as they never refilled them. Although their policy says absolutely no tipping allowed staff was regularly hinting that tips were customary. I’m fine with tipping if earned but it was more expected by them being present, not because they earned them. Did I mention the food was awful? Worst of any all inclusive we’ve been to. Ice cream… yes it would have been nice to get our kids ice cream but of the 6 days we were there the machine were only “working” one day. In other words no one took the time to get them going as there are multiple machines in several different locations and they expect you to believe all quit working at once. Moving on, this place will nickel and dime you to death, Pictures are complementary but you have to pay to keep them, laundry is including with your stay, but you have to pay to use machines, etc. We tried making reservations to the restaurants for dinners but were told they don’t take reservations four parties of 4, so when we’d show up we’d have to wait and they’d say we should have made a reservation. They allow vendors inside the resort selling a bunch of junk you don’t want and they set up in the main walk way every day between the pools, restaurants and your rooms so your have to walk by them every time you do anything all week long. Back to the meals, I tried to order an appetizer for the whole table and was told that would put us over the limit, 1 per adult, so they said I couldn’t order it. The Drinks. If there was ever a resort that watered down the liquor it is this one. Order a liquor straight with no ice and it tastes super watered down. The water park has varying hours for what is stated on site. Also things were constantly randomly closed for half to whole day at a time for “cleaning.” I could go on and on but you get the point. Don’t Go Here.

This resort was on par with the negative reviews. We are a family of five and have been to four other resorts (never beaches or sandals). I would rate this the lowest resort we have ever stayed at. Would never recommend to anyone I know having been there. We made the best of it but to sum it up, this resort if very very tired in every area, from the rooms to the bars and everywhere in between. If you have booked, you will make the best of it as we did and you will be just fine. Don’t go to the dinner buffet it is the most lacking - go to an a la carte. The beach is calm but lots of seagrass while we were there. So much that they cannot clear it as they do this by rake as the beach is small and no big equipment is there. Most staff are friendly. The beach staff for water sports were not helpful or informative and yelled at me for signing my kids up for the banana boat and not standing for an unknown amount of time just waiting to go out on the water when the boat was not yet in operation. Could have been polite as the first person did not explain to me what to do and left me just wondering. The beach is small and they could have found us. Were we on the loungers close by. Also no water bikes to use as were advertised. No other activities on the beach from the entertainment staff. The best part of the trip was that our room was made up twice a day! No shortage of towels and that was lovely. Hot water is good in the shower. Room wasn’t bad but double beds for two adults are just too small to be comfortable. The gardens are nice. I was surprised no further work was being done on the rotten decking by the opa beach bar or on the many places that need attention. Never any water aerobics or pool volleyball in the pool even though it was on the daily activity board. The entertainment staff were okay but the amount of activities was surprisingly minimal. Frozen drinks were good but mixed drinks tasted like rum was just on top. Not a really strong point for cocktails other than the frozen drinks. If you are going here - make the best of it. If you are thinking about going - don’t get fooled by the brand.
