    My wife and I just spent 5days at The Del Mar Fairmont. This is our 5 visit to the hotel and as always the hotel the service the food wonderful. Plus they always make us feel welcome.This is one of the most beautiful hotels that I have visited in the US. If your visiting the San Diego area make it a must stop and go to the Grand Del Mar its always 5 star.

    We live locally and have stayed at the Grand Del Mar previously so when we scheduled so me work at our home we knew that this would be a great place to stay. We were not disappointed. While some of the services were a bit more limited than pre-covid, the team at the Grand made every effort to accommodate our needs and feel safe and welcome. Dining options were available and we opted for dinner in Amaya each night and Room Service for breakfast daily. The Amaya team got to know us quickly and personalized the service as they learned our preferences. Our dog (who is now a celebrity at the resort) was given Champagne (water) without asking and the chef even offered some special treats. All of the guest areas were spotlessly clean and sanitized regularly, giving comfort and an added sense of safety. Housekeeping was utilized and very detailed in their approach. We were coming and going daily to check on our house and the valet and guest services staff were attentive, prompt and top notch giving personal recognition and always welcoming us back when we returned each evening. The expanse of the resort is a good way to keep people spread out and we never felt crowded in the pubic spaces, pool or restaurants. It is really nice to know that we have such a first class facility right in our back yard so to speak, when long distance travel is less desirable and getting away without taking a flight is a recharging and mentally healthful necessity.

    The Fairmont Grand Del Mar: A European Oasis in San Diego

    Stayed with my husband and puppy Maple at this gorgeous resort for the first time. It’s one the best resorts we have ever stayed in California. We had an amazing time! The Fairmont surpassed all of our expectations and satisfied our cravings for the European travels that we’ve been missing since the pandemic hit us. As we approached the property, it felt like we were in Europe. The architecture is lavish and elegant; the décor is European. The minute we stepped through the lobby, it was like stepping into a hotel in Italy or France. It was such a wonderful feeling to have European ambiance right near home in Orange County. The Fairmont Grand Del Mar is also pet friendly and the service was amazing. We were so thrilled to be able to take our puppy Maple along with us. We were amazed at how the staff treated Maple as their own – and she even got a welcome letter and a bandana – a gift from the resort with an initial “M” embroidered on it. We thought that was the sweetest touch. Maple was very comfortable throughout our stay. There are several walkways and grass areas for her to play and walk – such a treat for fur parents to know their pets are being well taken care of. The property is elegant, peaceful and captivating, the architecture, décor, amenities are outstanding. And best of all, the service was impeccable – they went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. The food at Amaya restaurant was excellent. You don’t need to dine outside; you can also enjoy dining in the room. If you are looking for a luxury European style vacation without flying out of the U.S., Fairmont is the perfect place to be!

    Every single encounter we had was better than the last. The property is stunning and serene. The staff could not have been more professional and accommodating. The entire bell staff (esp Brent) was phenomenal. The golf/clubhouse staff was perfection and is the definition of five star service. Big praise for Benny at the Clubhouse Grill and the Mgr at the golf/pro shop whose name I cant recall. We will return just based on their service alone. Every attention to detail was captured and the guest rooms were large and immaculate. I do feel we missed much of the amenities of this amazing property due to COVID but without a doubt we are returning as soon as we are able to enjoy it to the fullest. Job well done FGDM.

    Wonderful Weekend Getaway!

    We had a great stay here. The resort is beautiful and the service is outstanding. We had a lovely room that opened up to the Adult Relaxation Pool. Our server, Sabrina did a great job of anticipating our every need. The second day of our stay we rented a cabana and our son and daughter-in-law joined us. It was such a perfect day! Our server Alex was top notch - he went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. Also many thanks to Rich, the pool manager who stopped by to make sure everything was taken care of. My only negative comment was that the quality of food delivered from room service was disappointing, so maybe that's something that can be improved. Other then that our stay was perfect!
