Outdated Time Capsule, Tiny, Dirty Room.

Stayed here for 5 night for work. Easy, fast check in, given Room 1100 (11th floor). 2 elevators for the property, so wait is never too long. Room was tiny, it had an adjoining room door which made the think it is intended as a child suite for the larger room next door. This wall was small; so small that there was only one side to get into bed. There was no chair, couch, desk or side table, just one end table for the lamp and 1990s era Sunbeam alarm clock/radio. The TV stand/drawer had the coffee pot and microwave jammed all together. Nice balcony with decent view considering it is 3 blocks to the beachfront. No updated power ports in this room (USB or lamp power port), and with room size there were only 2 available power outlets; one behind the entry door (where the adjoining room door prevented a table from being placed there) and next to the bed (which you could not walk to since there was no space). The room was dusty, there was odd red staining on the wall near the shower stall, hair on the back of the bathroom door. The bed was wore out or ridiculously “soft” with a dip in the middle which made sleep difficult and uncomfortable. The bathroom was a disappointment; from the brown spotted mirror, cracked porcelain sink, rusty and dusty overhead light, and leaky shower head. Discovered my coworker got a room nearly double in size with a couch and 2 night stands, a separate table with sink for the microwave and coffee maker. Our company travel agency booked the 2 rooms at the same rate, so the disconnect was on the hotel side. The few positives include constant hot water, and cheap rental car parking compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at in Waikiki. Overall a pretty crummy experience; this is my third trip to the area, all with different hotels. Aqua Aloha Surf was the worst and would n
An ok place to stay at

Aqua Aloha Surf’s situated in the heart of Waikiki so location wise it’s awesome. There is a new serviced apartment right next to this hotel and many of their residents walk their dogs on the same street (so what I want to say is that the smell of this street could also be somehow unpleasant —- not every single owner cleans up after what their dogs have done). Back to square one, the bus stop’s just a few minutes away and this hotel offers a few hours free parking in the afternoon. The garbage truck/ police car/ ambulance always woke me up during my stay so a heads-up, ask for the upper floor. There is a water cooler in the lobby so you can fill up your water for free. Coin laundries are also available. Overall it’s an ok place to stay at because of its convenience. PS: I also grew up in Honolulu myself so if anyone wants to know more about Oahu before you travel, feel free to drop me a line ??
