Very friendly staff

The hotel is bare minimum, thin walls and outdated. However, the staff was SO kind and pleasant that it actually made the experience a lot better! It really wouldn’t be the least bit great without them.

This hotel was a very nice place to stay while in Waikiki. The location is excellent for getting around town, using The Bus, going for walks, and going to the beach. Our room: We had a room with a balcony and a view of the Ala Wai Canal. We were at the end of the hall, so we had windows on two sides of the room. Plenty of light and an amazing view. The bed was comfortable and I was worried it would be too soft. But it was great and I had many deep sleeps! There was a mini kitchenette with plates glasses and cutlery. There was a microwave, mini fridge, and mini coffee maker. Each day we picked up complimentary coffee at the front desk so that we could have coffee the next morning. The suite had vinyl plank floor and tropical artwork. It is air conditioned with a window style unit. We were cool, but it needed to be on all the time. It was not too loud, but not as quiet as central air. The bathroom had a tub, shower, toilet and sink. The door to the bathroom was a louvered door on a barn door track. It gave no privacy. There was a large closet and a very small dresser. This may be different in other rooms, as we peeked in our hallway, and each room looked like it was completely different in its furnishings and decor. We thought that maybe each room was owned as a condo and they are rented out to tourists. There was a sign in the elevator about the condo association meeting. Overall, a clean room that met our needs while on vacation. Service: the front desk staff were professional and polite. They were attentive and always greeted us in a friendly way when we requested towels and chairs for the beach. They also had additional toiletries and coffee that we picked up when we needed it. Housekeeping services were twice a week, but you could request clean linen if you needed it more often. This was actually a relief, because we could relax each morning and not worry that they were coming to clean at 9:00am! Wifi worked well and was reliable. Enjoyed reading the local paper each day! Location: we walked everywhere or took the bus. For large tours, like the luaus or the island circle tour, we were close to the pick up spot which was right behind the Hyatt hotel. Maybe a five minute walk. There are restaurants, bars, ABC stores and the International Marketplace all close by. And so close to the beach. A 5-10 minute walk and you are on the most beautiful beach in the world. We booked directly with the hotel and our rate was very reasonable. This is not a luxury resort, but it does have a small pool and felt very safe and clean. I would definitely stay here again.
